NCFC Charity/Good Causes Policy
Norwich City Football Club recognises the importance and hard work of charities and community fund-raising groups around the UK, as well as the positive impact the Club can have to help to generate revenues for these causes.
The Club's recognised charity partner is the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation, who are themselves a registered charity based at Carrow Road.
Norwich City Community Sports Foundation (CSF) helps over 50,000 people every year achieve their goals through sport, supporting some of the most disadvantaged, disabled and talented people across Norfolk.
The Foundation's vision is to help people achieve their goals by delivering quality, innovative services through football and sport - to find out more about CSF and their Sporting Light Appeal please visit their website - www.communitysportsfoundation.org.uk.
The Club typically receives over 1,000 requests for donations to good causes each year. Whilst unable to fulfill all requests, the Club is committed to delivering assistance where possible and practical and has this charity policy in place to facilitate this process.
Throughout the course of each football season the Club will make available 200 pennants signed by our first team squad to be used by fund-raisers to generate revenues.
Applications for these pennants must be made by completing this downloadable form (click here) and returning it to the address below or emailing charityrequests@ncfc-canaries.co.uk
Owing to the large number of applications received, the Club cannot accommodate requests from organisations or groups outside of Norfolk and Suffolk. Also due to demand we are unable to help with prizes of match tickets, signed shirts or balls. Signed shirts are available to purchase from the Canary Store.
However, the Club may make special provisions for exceptional cases and some national campaigns. The Club's Charity Steering Group will also consider any applications for help from armed forces or emergency services groups.
On five occasions during the season the Club will accommodate registered charities by holding ground collections on match days at Carrow Road. Applications for 2012-13 are now closed, but will re-open for the 2013-14 season in January 2013.
To apply, please complete the downloadable form and return to the address below or via email charityrequests@ncfc-canaries.co.uk. All applications are processed in August ahead of the beginning of a new season and charities will be contacted to confirm if they have been successful or not.
NCFC look to support a maximum of five events a season which are connected to the 92 in 92 fundraising challenge. All applications must be made by registered charities and support can only be given within working hours (and will not include Sundays). Occasional match support may be given but this will be at discretion of NCFC and is not guaranteed.
Norwich City Community Sports Foundation launched the Sporting Light Appeal in March 2011 to help provide activities for disadvantaged people and those with disabilities across Norfolk and North Suffolk. From time to time, at the discretion of NCFC, the Appeal will benefit from resources available to the club, including ground collections, special events and signed items for raffles/auctions.
