MORE THAN JUST A SPONSOR...AVIVA have been the main club sponsor of Norwich City Football Club since 2008, which built upon the previous three year sponsorship of the Aviva Community Stand and grassroots community programmes. The sponsorship of Norwich City Football Club promotes the Aviva brand across the globe through the Club’s status in the Premier League with broadcast coverage in 211 countries, whilst also celebrating their close ties to the local community.
Since becoming main club sponsor, Aviva have kindly donated their shirt sponsorship for one game per season to charity, to help raise valuable funds and to promote the issues which the charities support. Last season saw Railway Children, who help support runaway children in the UK, take to the shirts of the Canaries for the match against Everton at Carrow Road. Aviva’s #1every5 social media campaign, which saw great support from the first team squad, management team and Canaries’ fans Stephen Fry and Jake Humphrey, saw the charity benefit from a £97,774 donation from Aviva, significant media coverage and mass awareness of the fact that one child runs away from home in the UK every 5 minutes.
Aviva work closely with the Community Sports Foundation to deliver programmes which help benefit those in and around Norfolk. Through their sponsorship of the Ability Counts programme, CSF are able to engage adults and children with various physical and learning difficulties to enjoy sport and the benefits which it brings. With the help and support of Aviva staff, who have raised over £30,000 for CSF’s Sporting Light Appeal, the disability programmes are able to go from strength to strength.
Through the Aviva Classroom Champions/Enterprise Academy programme, children are able to learn key skills, such as numeracy and literacy through the medium of football in the classroom. This is followed by a practical coaching sessions, delivered by training CSF’s trained coaches, to help improve the physical literacy of the students.
