ELIAS Kachunga's brace consigned the Canaries to defeat as Huddersfield Town claimed a 2-1 victory at Carrow Road.
Kachunga nodded home Tommy Smith's cross after just five minutes to put the Terriers in front, but City responded within a minute.
Robbie Brady hooked a cross in from the byline and Jonny Howson was there to guide his header beyond the reach of Danny Ward and into the corner.
Huddersfield were dominant however; putting the Canaries under pressure and keeping the ball comfortably when they had it, and their play merited their second goal five minutes before half-time.
Once more City allowed their opponents too much space and Kachunga punished them by poking home his second of the night.
Nelson Oliveira should have brought his team level as they battled to get back in the game, but this accomplished Huddersfield team were executing their gameplan.
Alex Neil's men built steady pressure as the half wore on and Jacob Murphy forced a decent stop from Ward, but it wasn't enough as City fell to their seventh defeat in nine league matches.
HOW THEY LINED UP
Following the victory and cleansheet against Aston Villa on Tuesday, Neil went with the same team that started that night.
Ryan Bennett and Sebastien Bassong were the central defensive pair for the sixth successive match, while in-form Nelson Oliveira led the line.
There was one change to the bench, where Cameron Jerome replaced Kyle Lafferty having recovered sufficiently from the back injury he aggravated against Derby County last month.
When Terriers centre-back Jon Gorenc Stankovic misjudged a high ball midway through the second period, the confident Oliveira was in.
With Ward off his line, the Portuguese international attempted to lob the ball over the Terriers' goalkeeper - but the despair was palpable in the crowd as it drifted agonisingly wide.
That proved to be the clearest chance for the Canaries to draw level as a retreating Huddersfield clung on for the victory.
WHAT IT MEANS
Once again Neil's team were unable to back up a victory with another positive result.
