Cambridge date added to schedule
NORWICH CITY can today announce four domestic friendlies that will make up part of the Club’s pre-season schedule.
Canaries’ squads consisting primarily of Under-21 and Under-18 players, including a selection of City's FA Youth Cup winners, will take on Fakenham Town, St Neots Town, Tooting & Mitcham United, Chelmsford City and Cambridge United across July and August.
The first trip will be to Fakenham’s Clipbush Park on Saturday July 13 (3pm), the Norfolk-based Eastern Counties League side, before they travel to Southern Premier Division St Neots’ Rowley Park in Cambridgeshire a week later, also kicking off at 3pm.
A visit to the capital and Tooting & Mitcham, who play Isthmian League football at Imperial Fields, follows on Wednesday July 24 (7.30pm).
Also confirmed is a visit to Cambridge United and the Abbey Stadium for a friendly clash with the Conference side on Wednesday, July 31 (7.30pm).
Finally, they will conclude with a trip to Dean Holdsworth’s Chelmsford City of the Conference South, with that clash taking place on Saturday August 3 at Melbourne Stadium (3pm).
This season will be the second for both the Development squad and the Under-18s squad in the restructured youth competition implemented under the Elite Player Performance Plan at the beginning of last year.
League fixtures for both sides will be announced on canaries.co.uk in due course.
