Ehiogu tragically passed away on Friday aged 44

EVERYBODY at Norwich City joins the wider football family in expressing our sorrow on hearing the news of the sudden death of Tottenham Hotspur Under-23s coach and former England player Ugo Ehiogu earlier today.

City and Brighton and Hove Albion will unite in paying their respects to Ugo with a minute’s applause before tonight’s Sky Bet Championship match at Carrow Road, which is live on Sky Sports (kick-off 7.45pm).

Ehiogu was capped four times by England and made more than 200 appearances as a highly-regarded defender for Aston Villa between 1991 and 2000, going on to play for West Bromwich Albion, Leeds United, Rangers and Middlesbrough before joining Spurs’ backroom team in 2014.

He was reported to have collapsed in training after suffering a cardiac arrest at Tottenham’s training centre on Thursday and died in hospital in the early hours of Friday.

In addition to joining fans in observing a minute’s applause before the match, players of both clubs will be wearing black armbands.

Our thoughts are with Ugo’s family, friends and colleagues at this sad time.
