Newcastle double-header postponed due to the weather

NORWICH CITY Academy’s double-header against Newcastle United, scheduled for this afternoon, has been called off due to the adverse weather conditions.

A decision was taken yesterday morning to postpone the Under-21s and Under-18s meetings to prevent the visitors from Tyneside making the long trip in vain.

Both games were scheduled to kick-off at 1pm at Colney Training Centre, but a new date for the fixtures will be announced in due course.

The Development Squad will have been looking to continue their impressive recent form that has seen them record three wins in a row against Stoke City, Crystal Palace and Manchester City in the Barclays Under-21s Premier League, plus a 4-0 thrashing of Cromer Town in the Norfolk Senior Cup semi-final.

The Under-18s have proven equally as difficult to beat with just one loss in nine games. They picked up a valuable point in their last match after drawing 1-1 at Manchester City.
