NORWICH City can confirm that midfielder Jacob Butterfield has joined Championship side Crystal Palace on an emergency loan deal until February 19, 2013.
The 22-year-old joined the Canaries in the summer from Barnsley, and after fighting his way back to fitness from a long-term knee injury, has featured three times for City this season, in Capital One Cup victories over Doncaster Rovers and Tottenham Hotspur, as well as the January 5 FA Cup win over Peterborough United.
Ian Holloway’s promotion-chasing Eagles currently sit in fourth position in the npower Championship table, and Butterfield will be eligible to play in Saturday’s clash at home to Bolton Wanderers – managed by former Palace boss Dougie Freedman, and a team with whom Butterfield enjoyed an eight-game loan spell earlier this season.
