Final matches of November internationals completed

THE final matches of the November international break took place with several Canaries seeing action for their countries but with a mixed bag of results.

Johan Elmander and Martin Olsson will unfortunately miss out on next year's World Cup in Brazil after Sweden were defeated 4-2 on aggregate in their two-legged Play-off against Portugal. The City players featured in both ties, but a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick added to his goal in the first leg to put his nation through.

Robert Snodgrass, Steven Whittaker and Russell Martin played the full 90 minutes in Scotland's 1-0 over Norway in Molde - seeing Gordon Strachan's side register two clean sheets in consecutive games following their 0-0 draw with the USA on Friday.

Wes Hoolahan came on for the last 17 minutes in the Republic of Ireland's 0-0 away draw with Poland. The City midfielder featured for 73 minutes on Friday night in their 3-0 win over Latvia in Dublin. City winger Anthony Pilkington missed out due to the injury he sustained in the Canaries' 3-1 win over West Ham before the international break.

City’s John Ruddy was an unused substitute for England's Wembley defeats to Chile and Germany.

Leroy Fer played just over a half in the Netherlands' 0-0 draw with Colombia in Amsterdam, having replaced an injured Rafael van der Vaart just before the half-time break.

City Under-21 captain Cameron McGeehan made his debut for Northern Ireland U21s in their 1-0 win over Cyprus in Belfast.
