NORWICH City are delighted to announce the signing of Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford
on loan until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old moves to Carrow Road following a temporary spell with Crystal Palace, where he made six Barclays Premier League appearances.
Bamford spent last season at Middlesbrough, scoring 17 times in 38 Sky Bet Championship matches to be named as the division’s Player of the Year while also notably netting in a 2-0 FA Cup win away to Manchester City.
While with Boro he featured against City in the play-off final, with the Canaries triumphing 2-0
to complete a return to the top-flight at the first time of asking.
The former Nottingham Forest Academy player has also represented England up to Under-21s level, only missing out on Gareth Southgate’s 2015 European Championship squad through injury.
Having completed a short-term switch for the remainder of the campaign, Bamford exclusively told canaries.co.uk: "I'm really happy to be here, and the sooner I'm able to get involved the better.
"That's what I want to do personally, but it's also about helping Norwich to get the points required to stay in the league."
After further bolstering his attacking options following the recent signing of Steven Naismith
, City boss Alex Neil added: "Patrick is a player who excelled last season and we are pleased to have the opportunity to bring him in.
"He's a young forward determined to make his way in the game, and adds competition for us at the top end of the pitch."
