Our weekly round-up of games involving City's loan players

THE game ended as a stalemate on Saturday as Louis Thompson's Swindon Town took on Jacob Murphy and James Maddison's Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena.

Thompson featured for the full match for the visitors, while Murphy and Maddison were introduced as 59th-minute substitutes - but Tony Mowbray's side failed to score at home for the second time in a row.

Elsewhere in Sky Bet League One, Jamar Loza's Southend United are within three points of a place in the top six following a 1-1 draw with promotion-chasing Gillingham at Roots Hall.

Anthony Wordsworth's fourth goal of the season put Phil Brown's side in front before Luke Norris levelled for the Gills. Loza featured as a 63rd-minute substitute.

Peterborough United won for the first time since February 6 with a 2-1 victory at Doncaster Rovers, but Harry Toffolo wasn't involved in Graham Westley's squad.

In the tier above, Josh Murphy started for MK Dons against his former manager Chris Hughton's Brighton & Hove Albion, with the Seagulls winning 2-1 at Stadium mk.

Murphy completed 90 minutes as Carl Baker spurned the opportunity to earn the Dons a point when he missed an injury-time penalty.

Tomer Hemed's brace had earlier put Brighton in control, with Antony Kay's header for MK Dons offset by a red card for teammate Kyle McFadzean just a minute later.

Also in the Sky Bet Championship, Sheffield Wednesday's brushed Charlton Athletic aside 3-0 at Hillsborough, but Michael Turner didn't feature against his old employers.

In non-league, Ben Killip kept a cleansheet for Lowestoft Town as they edged out Gainsborough Trinity 1-0 at Crown Meadow.

North of the border, Carlton Morris wasn't involved for Hamilton Academical against Partick Thistle. The Accies, tenth in the Scottish Premiership, fell to a 2-1 home loss.

Finally, Ricky van Wolfswinkel didn't make the matchday squad for Real Betis, who suffered a 1-0 defeat to Malaga in La Liga.
