NORWICH City are delighted to have agreed the signing of midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old, a DR Congo international, will link up with the Canaries on July 1 after his West Bromwich Albion contract expires at the end of June.
Mulumbu, who has agreed a two-year deal at Carrow Road, boasts a wealth of top flight experience having made 151 Barclays Premier League appearances for the Baggies.
He will become City’s second recruit of the summer transfer window following the permanent transfer of his former West Brom teammate Graham Dorrans in May.
Speaking exclusively to canaries.co.uk, boss Alex Neil said: "The fact that we've been able to pick Youssouf up on a free transfer is a fantastic piece of business.
"His arrival will add to the competition for places. We have a strong squad with a lot of players that have done well in the Premier League and Youssouf will bring that competition to the squad.
"He has vast experience of the Premier League but he's still at a good age. You generally say that a player comes into their peak between 27 and 32, and he's right in the middle of that.
"He's another fantastic player to add to an already-strong squad going into the Premier League."
Initially moving to West Brom on loan from Paris Saint-Germain during the 2008-09 campaign, Mulumbu subsequently signed permanently following their relegation from top flight.
He went on to form a key part of the side which secured an immediate promotion under Roberto Di Matteo the next season, making 40 league appearances alongside Dorrans.
In total, Mulumbu made 211 appearances for Albion in all competitions, finding the net on 15 occasions.
