NORWICH City will play host to Panathinaikos in their final warm-up game for the 2013-14 campaign, with the Canaries taking on the Greek giants on Saturday, August 10 at Carrow Road (3pm).
The fixture will round off an exciting pre-season campaign that includes a three-match tour of the United States, visits to Brighton & Hove Albion and Sporting Braga, plus a clash against Champions League qualifiers Real Sociedad four days prior.
It will be City’s first ever meeting with the Athens-based club, who finished sixth in the Greek Superleague last season and are coached by Yannis Anastasiou. They have won their national title 20 times, most recently in 2009-10.
Recognisable names in their squad include Arsenal youth product Quincy Owusu-Abeyie and experienced skipper Giourkas Seitaridis.
They were drawn alongside Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League Group J last season – the English side triumphed 3-1 at White Hart Lane to qualify for the knockout stages back in December after the reverse fixture had finished 1-1 at the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium.
The game comes exactly a week prior to the start of the new Barclays Premier League campaign, with the Canaries kicking off their competitive season at home to Everton.
Tickets for this game are on sale now priced at £15 for adults, £10 for over-65s, £5 for Under-17s and £1 for under-12s. Upper tiers are not available for this game.
