CITY goalkeeper Declan Rudd has joined npower League One outfit Preston North End on loan until the end of the season.
This is the first opportunity the young City ‘keeper has had to go out on loan in his career, bringing the opportunity of regular first-team football following the unfortunate injury of former North End stopper Steve Simonsen in their recent 2-2 draw with Coventry City.
Rudd signed a new three-year deal in July 2011 committing himself to the Canaries until 2014. He was also called up to the England Under-21s that summer where he was an unused substitute during their Euro 2013 qualifying campaign.
Rudd has made three appearances for the Canaries this season, playing against Scunthorpe United in the Capital One Cup before playing both of City’s FA Cup matches against Peterborough United and last Saturday’s clash with Luton Town.
