King and Browne net consolation goals for City

NORWICH City's Under-18s lost 4-2 to Tottenham Hotspur at Colney despite a spirited second half performance.

The visitors had raced into a 3-0 half-time lead thanks to Christian Maghoma, Anthony Georgiou and Nathan Oduwa.

Neil Adams' young Canaries then went four down as Oduwa poked home his second, but their heads didn't drop as excellent goals from Cameron King and Rhys Browne added some respectability to the scoreline.

City named trialist Marko Cancar in goal, while Christian Scales stepped in for Nathan Fox who missed out with a groin strain.

Spurs took the lead after just two minutes when City's failure to clear from inside their own six-yard box was punished when Maghoma slotted past Cancar.

Georgiou struck the post before City had their first opening when Browne's cross fell just out of reach of in-form striker Jamie Eaton-Collins.

Oduwa was the London's club main threat and forced a good stop from Cancar on 26 minutes, before two goals in as many minutes for Spurs made City's task a tough one.

Firstly Georgiou finished calmly after being set up by Daniel Akindayini, before another swift counter attack enabled Oduwa to finish tidily and grab a deserved goal.

Ray Grant hit the post from a free-kick for City, but Spurs went into the break in complete control of proceedings.

They got their fourth moments after Will Miller had crashed a shot against the crossbar when Oduwa pounced in the box to net his second.

The attitude of City's players was exemplary, though, and they got their reward with two goals in the closing 15 minutes.

King, celebrating his 18th birthday, finished calmly on 76 after Eaton-Collins' had pulled back Cameron Norman's delivery.

Then in the final moments, Rhys Browne defied two Spurs defenders and chipped delightfully over Luke McGee to finish the game on a high.
