NCFC
Hello and welcome to the second live Q&A webchat with director Michael Foulger. Despite the snow, the webchat goes ahead.

Michael Foulger
Hello everybody, Michael Foulger here. Thanks for joining us - I'm looking forward to answering as many of your questions as I can over the next hour or so.

NCFC
The first question comes in on email, don't forget you can post your questions at the bottom of the console:
Dear Michael, how would assess the job that Paul Lambert and his coaching staff have done so far this season? From a fans point of view, they have done a fantastic job, the football we are watching home and away is beautiful and the team seem to have confidence in every game, which was not the case in the previous 3/4 seasons since we were relegated from the Premier League. Well done on the season so far, and best wishes for the future. From Darrell Allen

Michael Foulger
Hello Darrell, thank you for your good wishes. Paul and his team have done a fantastic job with the playing squad, and are winning games by playing good football. I'm personally very impressed by his professionalism working with the Board and hope his good run so far continues.

NCFC
I understand from the EDP that the club are to announce debts of £23m with a loss of £5m last year, how do the club intend to recoup this deficit, will major players have to be sold and how will it affect the players we can bring it? Bad management (from last season) has brought us to this position, we relied too much on loan players when we should have purchased a small number of players who cared and wanted to play for the club on a permanent basis instead of getting a large number of loanees in who could not care if the club stayed up or not because they were going back to a club not affected by a relegation battle at the end of last season.

Michael Foulger
Hello Carl and others who have asked about today's EDP story. The facts as represented in the paper are pretty accurate although we have a full press conference this afternoon at which we will be giving local media the full details of our accounts. It's worth pointing out the accounts cover the period up to May 31, 2009. There is no need for us to sell any players this January. The point about the reliance on the loan system last season is certainly something we've taken on Board. Loan signings didn't work and I support Paul's preference to sign players that are our players. Having said that you'd never rule out making a loan signing of a quality player if it would improve the squad. As far as recouping our deficits, more details will be given at this afternoon's press conference but it's very high on our agenda to reduce debts.

NCFC
Hi Michael, I am very impressed by the new boards financial and management savvy, but with the news today about the clubs debt, do we have any more assets to sell, and if so will we have to sell them, not including players? Chris Gunns

Michael Foulger
Hi Chris, We've appointed professional advisors to objectively review all club assets (non-football) and they will advise us accordingly. We're prepared to look at anything which will benefit the football side of NCFC.

NCFC
Hi Michael, This mornings report in the EDP about our precarious financial position is very worrying yet we still seem to be signing players. Although this shows great signs of positivity and ambition I am sure many fans would understand the need to keep the club alive rather than spending more. Can you explain how we are funding these signings and also who signed of the many loan signings that got us into this position? Thanks, Alan Wilkinson, season ticket holder for 22 years

Michael Foulger
Hello Alan, We are of course helping Paul as best we can, as we attempt to get back to the Championship - particularly with our current league standing. But our budget does reflect that of a League One club. Of course we take our debt position very seriously and are working to reduce it - but we are not alone in this. Most clubs in the country are struggling with debt unfortunately.

NCFC
Michael, is it true you have personally made a large sum of your personal fortune available to Paul Lambert's player budget? Thank you, Mark Jones, Dereham

P Slade
Thank you very much for the generous donation you gave to the football club earlier in the season, which single handedly helped bring in Grant Holt. Is it difficult to see such a large some of your own money which you have worked for just in the matter of minutes go from your bank account?

Michael Foulger
Hello Mark and P.Slade, I cried more when we were relegated than when that money left my bank account. Myself and my family are lifelong supporters of the Canaries, I was personally very happy to make my gift for the season ticket rebate which obviously enabled the Club to sign Grant Holt - and like all of us I'm delighted to see how well Grant has done since joining us. I look forward to continuing to support the Club whenever possible.

Salahuddin
Odds are shortening on Lambert becoming new Burnley Manager, has there been any approach?

Laurence, Herts
Paul Lambert is now favourite for Burnley job on Sky bet. Can we be assured that he is staying at the club and busy trying to strengthen the current squad?

NottsCanary
Hi Michael, Is there anything in the speculation and odds lowering of Lambert getting the Burnley job? Can you assure us that he is committed in staying here for the foreseeable future?

Michael Foulger
Hello Salahuddin, Laurence and others who have raised this question. There has been no approach for Paul and he is committed to Norwich City and is currently working with us to improve his squad.

NCFC
Happy New Year Mr Foulger, Following the clubs decision to move reserve games to afternoon kick off, has it been considered to play some reserve matches on a Saturday afternoon at Carrow Road, so the future supporters (children)can actually come and watch our team play here. Surely the club must encourage younger people to come and support as they did midweek evenings games. On The Ball City. Joe McKenzie, Norwich

Michael Foulger
Hi Joe, as a family club we will do all we can to encourage fans of all ages to come to Carrow Road. Like everyone else I love watching reserve games under the lights at home. If we can make these events viable, which I know the executive team are looking at, we will return to holding evening reserve games at Carrow Road.

NCFC
Dear Mr. Foulger, Why are you unable to reach an agreement with Norfolk Police which would continue the practice of closing Carrow Rd/Koblenz Avenue for a short period at the end of a match and thus offer the best arrangement for crowd safety? E. J. Hale

Michael Foulger
Hello E.J.Hale, firstly, we have an excellent relationship with Norfolk Police and we work very closely with them on every game. I should also say that safety is paramount for our supporters at all times and we'll always do all we can to try to insure they get to and from our matches safely. We take our responsibilities seriously and it should be pointed out that Koblenz Avenue and other highways in the area remain the responsibility of Norfolk County Council.

NCFC
Michael, Do you think there is any possibility of the club being deducted points for allegedly 'poaching' Paul Lambert from Colchester United ? Many Colchester fans believe this will definitely be the case, could you put our minds at rest? Richard, Dereham

Michael Foulger
Hi Richard, the matter is in the hands of our legal team and I can't really comment further.

Andrew
Is there any news on new investment?

Craig
Mr Foulger, Can you confirm if you are still seeking investors for the Club and also whether Keith Harris is still searching on behalf of the majority shareholders?

Michael Foulger
Hello Andrew and Craig, we're always looking for new investors and our professional advisors are helping us with this search. Unfortunately there's nothing to report at this moment.

Morty
Hi Michael, Was it ever considered an option to apply to be a World Cup venue? Considering some of the grounds that have been successful I think we would have been a pretty good option, I would have loved to see World Cup football at Carrow Road!

Michael Foulger
Hi Morty, as our supporters would expect us to, we were quite rightly focussing on football and financial matters this autumn. Any bid would have been a distraction. That being said we will consider our position again if an opportunity arises in the future, for example if the 2018 bid isn't successful. Having said that, I personally hope the 2018 bid will succeed as I'd love to see the World Cup come back to this country.

NCFC
Hi Michael, are we going to get any LIVE entertainment at Carrow Rd this summer? And thanks for everything you do for this Football Club. Going up, fingers crossed Sue

Michael Foulger
Hello Sue, there's nothing confirmed at the moment but I am personally working with the team here on this one because we have proven before that the stadium is a perfect venue for live music. Some of the difficulty is we only have a very small slot for pitch availability at the end of the season.

Scott Self
What is the situation regarding Saturday's game, can we expect the game to go ahead despite the weather?

Michael Foulger
Hi Scott, we're doing all we can to get the game on this Saturday but much will depend on weather conditions over the next couple of days.

Paul Usher
Hello Mr Foulger. I went to university in Nottingham with your son; so therefore you should answer my question...! The club clearly have the best management team we have had here in years and we should be looking to hold on to them for as long as possible. To what extent will you be able to back Paul Lambert with money to improve the squad should we go up to the Championship? Thanks once again for all the investment!

Michael Foulger
Hello Paul, would the money I spent on university fees have been better spent on the Football Club? Seriously we will do everything we can to hold on to Paul and his team and as mentioned earlier support them wherever possible now and in the future.

Matt Harper
Hi Michael, I was wondering what the situations are with the players contracts? I understand that numerous players contracts are up the end of this season- what is being done with regard to offering them new deals, so we don't lose players such as Croft for nothing again?

Michael Foulger
Hello Matt, we know where we stand with our players' contracts and we are in constant discussion with Paul about this and all squad matters.

Robert, York
Supporters who travelled by official means to the Walsall are receiving full compensation, is it not possible to extend this to non-official travellers which had to spend the money on fuel etc?

Michael Foulger
Hi Robert, firstly I'm astonished by the unstinting support we get from our fans both home and away. As far as the Walsall game is concerned, I certainly understand the frustrations of everybody who travelled to that match. We do know that our supporters travel to our away games from all over the country and we do really appreciate that dedication. Practically and logistically we can't deal with individual petrol refunds. What we are doing of course is providing free coaches for everyone travelling to the rearranged fixture on the official Club Canary coaches.

Michael Foulger
OK I've got time for one last question - thanks everyone for sending all your questions in, I've really enjoyed this webchat session.

James Wallis
Going back to the Paul Lambert question... Please can you expand your answer. A lot of people are interested in this particular topic.

Michael Foulger
Hi James, once again we have had no approach for Paul. I'm really impressed by his commitment to Norwich City and the way he goes about his business and I want him to be the manager to take this Club forward.

Michael Foulger
OK thanks everybody for your time and questions. I'm as committed as I can be to this football club and its supporters - On The Ball City!
