COMMUNITY GOSS - MARCH
Hello again and welcome to another 'Gossy' community report. 2008 continues to be very active in terms of events and functions outside Carrow Road requiring NCFC representation. This all once again proves that the football Club has a huge positive effect on people living in our community and I am delighted to highlight just a handful of stories that have been making the news.
SoccerPM ! (On Tour) Roadshow
Congratulations to all the SoccerPM! team for once again staging a very successful Roadshow at Aylsham High School on the 18th February. The night included FITC coaching, Soccer PM! Activities, players signing session and players Q&A session. Jon Otsemobor, Jamie Cureton and Rossi Jarvis were all involved on the night and impressed the local children with the way they spoke and answered questions.
The Long Distant Supporters Week End
To show the Club's appreciation to our devoted long distant supporter groups they were all invited to come to Carrow Road to participate in a weekend of activity and celebration. Nine supporter groups in total came together to parade around the pitch at half-time during the Barnsley match, have their children participate in an FITC coaching session, lose their voices in a 'Carrowoke' party night and finally compete in a very special 5-a-side Challenge Cup competition staged inside the Arena at Colney.
It all proved to be a great success and I would like to thank FITC and all the staff who contributed in making it a very memorable weekend for all our dedicated supporter groups. Thanks to former Canaries Bill Punton, Sandy Kennon, Phil Lythgoe and Mark Barham for managing the 5-aside teams on the Sunday and a special thanks to Andy Cullen who put a lot of time and effort in organising the whole event. Just for the record, Phil Lythgoe's side called 'He scored against Man U' won the football comp.

Young Citizens Guild
One of the events held to celebrate the Guild's 50th Anniversary was a tour of Colney and Carrow Road. All who contributed at Colney and the Club impressed and the 8 boys who attended on the day will take away some ideal role models. Thank you to all who contributed in making it a very special day for the Guild.
The Matthew Project
NCFC have recently contributed in raising just under £10k for the Matthew Project during a special Gourmet Meal held at the Stower Grange Hotel. Adam Drury is patron of the organisation that go into schools to highlight the dangers of drugs and alcohol.
Community Delivery Partners
FITC
In February a two-day course was held at Carrow Road called 'Aim Higher'. Five local schools were involved and the objectives were to encourage young children to maximise their strengths and talents and set themselves higher achievable career 'goals'. The course was run by Dan Goffin and included ground tours and coaching sessions. It was a beneficial day for all involved.
'Step into Sport' was another two day course for local schools this time run by Stevie Bramble. This particular topic was designed to highlight the way in which youngsters can gain employment from sporting organisations. On behalf of FITC I would like to thank Joe Ferrari, who gave the youngsters an in-site into the Club's media department and how it operates and Liam Weeks who spoke about the knowledge required to become a 'Performance Annalist'
Disability Awareness week
Monday February 25 marked the start of the Disability Awareness Week run by FITC Disability Officer Darren Lovell and his team. The 'Ability Counts' programme which won 'Best Community Initiative' last season has again proven to be a big success and the special weeks activities include coaching sessions held at Carrow Park, a 5-a-side Grand Prix League, a Disabled Supporters Forum and a Disabled Players Guard of Honour on the pitch for the first team players before they took on Blackpool. Well done to Darren and his staff for doing such a fantastic job.
