COMMUNITY GOSS - JANUARY
A NEW Year brings a quick change for Norwich City with City legend and crowd favourite, Bryan Gunn being appointed as the new manager. Gunny has also been joined by former teammates Ian Crook, John Deehan and Ian Butterworth.
As a former player I have had the pleasure of playing alongside all these 'big' names I can assure you that they are all very much aware of the history, culture and heritage of our great Club. This surely will be an asset to them going forward and an asset to the Football Club's community programme of 2009.
Current first team players appearing at various events and functions around the county are essential in forging stronger links between Club and supporter and as a former NCFC Community Ambassador, Bryan's understanding of the Club's corporate social responsibility will be of great benefit to all our community delivery partners as well as our fans.
As a close friend to all the new management team I certainly wish them all the very best for the rest of the 2008-09 season and beyond. I'm sure they will all make a huge contribution to the future success of the Club.
Cheers
Gossy
The 59ers Reunion Celebrations
Some of the players and the families of Norwich City's great 1959 FA Cup run were re-united recently to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their proud achievements. A celebration dinner supported by the Club's Historical Trust, an Aviva sponsored forum held in the Marble Hall and a half-time lap of honour during the Barnsley match were the key events that took place to give us all the opportunity to congratulate once again the fine players who took a then third division Norwich City all the way to the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

It really was a special weekend for the players who delighted the audiences by reminiscing about beating 'top' teams such as Man Utd and Spurs en route to the semi's. To the supporters they will always be regarded as gentlemen and heroes and their success will inspire us all and never be forgotten.
Princess Diana Award for Peer Support Success
Once again Flegg High School are immensely proud to announce that a group of special young people have been awarded the Princess Diana Memorial Award for their outstanding contribution to Peer Support. I was thrilled to have presented certificates and badges to the individuals concerned during their training of Martham Primary School Year 6 pupils in the techniques of Peer Support.
Under the expert guidance of Deputy Head, Mike Ward, the school uses the Study Support Centre here at Carrow Road as part of the Fair Play Initiative between the two organisations and I have to say the pupils achievements are absolutely brilliant.

Many congratulations go to Emma Gallant, Zoe Ribbands, Ashleigh Carruthers, Junior Rumbelow, Stacey Annison, Eloise Perry, Harvey Rodbourne, Sophie Lamb, Adam Rudrum, Catherine Bates, Sarah Knott, Laura Bennison and Chloe Cavanagh. They join an illustrious list of Flegg High pupils who have received this wonderful award over the past seven years.
Framingham Earl SoccerPM! on Tour
Mark Fotheringham, Simon Lapin, Kris Renton and Declan Rudd were the stars of Norwich City's SoccerPM! on Tour roadshow event held at Framingham Earl High School recently. An enthusiastic group of children enjoyed the fun activities on the night, which, included an FITC soccer school, face painting, competitions, games and climaxed in a question and answer session with four players - Mark Fotheringham, Simon lappin, Declan Rudd and Kris Renton. Well done to all the staff who contributed to a great night of entertainment and well done also to the players who gave such honest answers. The next SoccerPM! on Tour will be on the March 30, at Hobart High School in Loddon.

School Visits to Reepham and Wells
Part of my role here at the Club and one, which, I always enjoy is visiting various schools around the region to play my small part in educating young children on a wide variety of subjects ranging from Norwich City Football Club to healthy living. Recently I made trips to both Reepham Junior School and Wells-next-the-Sea Primary and Nursery School to conduct talks on the subject of qualities needed to 'achieve' in life. It was brilliant to speak to such enthusiastic young children and my thanks go to the pupils and staff of both schools for their kind and warm hospitality.
View a letter received from pupil Matthew Cracknell - Year 5.
