Away supporters' facilities
Under normal circumstances visiting supporters will be housed in our North Stand which was opened in 1999 and provides a 'behind the goals' view. The initial allocation to visiting clubs will be 2000 seats although it may be possible to increase this figure by prior arrangement. North Stand visitors turnstiles are numbered 42 - 51 inclusive and are normally open during the ninety minute period before kick-off.
Under normal circumstances admission will be by payment at the turnstiles only - tickets will only be available in advance where a large away following is expected.
Barnsley welcomes visiting supporters who are confined to wheelchairs. These supporters will be accommodated on a platform area within the main body of visiting supporters in our North Stand. We can initially provide spaces for up to nine wheelchair bound supporters although this figure may be increased if required. A special disabled entrance, number 52, which is adjacent to the North Stand turnstiles is available to admit disabled supporters to their viewing area. Wheelchair bound supporters and carers must arrive with pre-purchased tickets - please contact Jon Morley, Box Office Supervisor, on boxoffice@barnsleyfc.co.uk or on 01226 211211.
Travelling to Oakwell
By road:
All visiting supporters travelling by road should approach the Oakwell Stadium from junction 37 of the M1 motorway. From this point vehicles should follow the black/white 'Barnsley Football Club' and brown/white 'Football Ground' signs. These signs lead directly to our visitors car park.
Parking:
A large visitors car/coach park is situated adjacent to the visitors entrances. It can accommodate about five hundred vehicles and a small parking charge involved. Prices for the 2003/2004 season will be determined shortly. All visiting supporters, including the disabled, who are travelling by road should use this car park.
By Rail:
The nearest railway station is Barnsley which is located in the town centre and is only a five minute walk from the stadium.
