CITY'S Under-15s have added to the Club's achievements this season by winning the International Youth Tournament in Aalst, Belgium.
This was the second year the Club has entered the tournament in the region with the help of sponsorship from Friends of Norwich City Youth and the NCFC Shareholders' Association.
The trip proved beneficial with the Canaries comfortable winners, ending the tournament undefeated and without conceding a goal.
Commenting on their achievement Academy Manager Ricky Martin said: "Assistant Academy Manager Dean Rastrick and Education and Welfare Officer Ben Smith took the lads to the tournament, the second year we have participated. The team were a credit to the Club both off and on the field and everyone should be very proud of them for not only becoming champions but being undefeated and not conceding a goal in the whole tournament.
"This acheivement showed good preparation and the boys reacted very well and stood up to the challenges. It's good for their development as these players compete week in, week out in the Academy in a development environment, but this shows they can take this on into a tournament and winning environment."
The Canaries had two 4-0 group stage wins over Eendracht and Belgian second division club Beveren. They then beat Belgian Juliper League side Westerlo 3-0 in the quarter-finals before overcoming FC Antwerp 1-0 in the semis. The final against Dutch Eredivisie club ADO Den Haag saw another 3-0 victory to clinch the tournament.
As an added bonus City midfielder Reece Hall-Johnson won the Player of the Tournament Trophy having scored five goals.
