EIGHT new scholars have been promoted to the Norwich City Under-18 Academy this summer.
Joining the fold are goalkeeper Remi Matthews, defenders Theo Jones, Taylor McKenzie, midfielders Michael Clunan, Jason Dobbs, Dean Florence, Sam Kelly and striker Jamar Loza.
The eight youngsters bring a degree of experience with them already, having made 56 Academy appearances and six reserve team appearances last season for the Canaries.
The new scholars will join goalkeeper Jed Steer (professional contract), defenders Alex Stephens, Remy Gordon, Richard Brindley, midfielders Matt Ball, Ryan Oakley and striker Patrick Drmola making the step from first year to second year scholars, with Matt Ball being appointed as head boy.
Speaking to canaries.co.uk Academy Manager Ricky Martin said: "I am very pleased to have secured the signatures of all eight players and having worked with them all as schoolboys I am now looking forward to working with them on a day to day basis and watching them develop at the Football Club.
"If these players fulfil their potential I am hopeful some of them can follow in the footsteps of Declan Rudd, Korey Smith, Tom Adeyemi, David Stephens, George Francomb and Josh Dawkin, who have progressed from the Scholarship scheme within the last two seasons and gone on to represent the Club at first team level."
