A GOAL each from City's 'A-Team' strike partnership of Arturo Lupoli and Antoine Sibierski sank ten-man Plymouth as the Canaries registered their first Championship victory of the season.
Lupoli lashed home Sibierski's flick-on in the 15th minute and the Frenchman went one better than that assist with a quality strike in the second half, firing in a 30-yard daisy-cutter for a goal on his debut.
Plymouth played nearly two-thirds of the match with ten men after defender Krisztian Timar was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence by referee Woolmer.
The Canaries totally dominated from then on, with Matty Pattison cracking two efforts against the bar and missing an open goal, Wes Hoolahan similarly guilty of spurning a gilt-edged chance and Lupoli thumping a volley against the woodwork.
There was time for a nervous last minute as Paul Gallacher pulled one back for the hosts in injury time but in the end the Canaries held on for a thoroughly-deserved victory.
After a slow start to the match City took the lead on 15 minutes, Lupoli latching on to Sibierski's header before slamming the ball home for his third goal of the season.

OFF AND RUNNING: Arturo Lupoli puts City ahead
for the first time this season at Home Park
The Italian thought he had doubled his tally when he tapped in the rebound after Pattison's howitzer had crashed down off the underside of the bar - but his effort was ruled out for offside.
Pattison then had a golden chance to make it 2-0 in the 32nd minute when Hoolahan cut the ball back to him just six yards out with the goal gaping, but he somehow blazed over when it looked easier to score.
A minute later struggling Plymouth were left with an even bigger mountain to climb when defender Krisztian Timar was dismissed for a second bookable offence after hauling back Sibierski as the Frenchman threatened to race clear.
Another great chance for City to take a stranglehold on the match came and went in the 38th minute, Hoolahan dwelling too long on the ball after Lupoli's cut-back was begging to be slotted home. His hesitation allowed an Argyle defender to challenge and although the City winger went down, penalty appeals were waved away and the danger was cleared.
Half-time: Plymouth Argyle 0, Norwich City 1
The Canaries carried on where they'd left off after the break, giving early notice of their determination to close off the match as Lupoli rattled the bar with a volley barely a minute after the restart from Omozusi.
And they duly made it 2-0 just before the hour-mark with a goal of real quality from Sibierski, who drilled home from 30 yards after Fotheringham rolled a free-kick into his path invitingly.

DEBUT GOAL: Frenchman Antoine Sibierski
smashes home a free-kick
After Darel Russell's shot was tipped over at full stretch by Stack in the Argyle goal the hosts had their best chance of the match so when an effort from substitute Emile Mpenza was cleared off the line by Omozusi.
As the Canaries cruised towards their first win of the season Pattison yet again rattled the woodwork with a 30-yard free-kick which Stack was nowhere near.
Plymouth ensured a slightly nervous last minute as Paul Gallacher netted following a long ball into City's box, but anything other than a Norwich win would surely have been a travesty.
