ANOTHER frustrating evening for the Canaries saw league one side MK Dons progress to round two of the Carling Cup. As with City's trip last weekend to the Ricoh, the Canaries dominated possession but yet again failed to find the back of the net.
Despite City controlling the majority of the first half the goal came from the home team's Sam Baldock, giving Roberto Di Matteo's MK Dons the win.
Over 2,000 City fans witnessed Norwich favourite Adam Drury make his return to the starting line-up for the Canaries - the first time since October last year. City had the opening chances of the match, with Koroma heading over the bar in the fourth minute, followed by Hoolahan's 13th minute curled attempt from 25-yards which was confidently saved by MK's 'keeper Willy Gueret. The Dons' 'keeper then made a save from another Koroma effort in the 33rd minute to keep the game level. The hosts stole the Canaries momentum a minute later as Sam Baldock honed down on Marshall and chipped the ball over the head of the diving City 'keeper.

The 58th minute saw Croft come on for Hoolahan and Cureton take the place of Koroma, with Croft swiftly finding Russell who curled a shot from 25-yards, only for it to cannon back off the post. 12 minutes later and another substitution, Lupoli being replaced with Pattison and Russell moving up front. Much like the first 45 minutes of the game the Canaries dominated possession, keeping the ball in the Dons' half but chances were few and far between. With long range efforts from Russell and Fotheringham.
City had a chance in the 86th minute to level the game, but it was too much of a stretch for Croft despite his efforts. Norwich continued to dominate in injury time, but were unable to get the ball passed the Dons' stopper.
