NORWICH City Academy's away day league blues continued with a 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.
City have now won only one of their six away league fixtures compared to four home wins out of five.
Ricky Martin was still without Welsh duo Josh Dawkin and David Stephens who were away on international duty with the U19s in Spain and also missing were defenders George Francomb, Sam Habergham and winger Tyree Clarke for the trip.
City came into the game off the back of a FA Youth Cup penalty shoot-out victory over Dulwich Hamlet in midweek and both teams cancelled each other out in the first half on a poor playing surface with neither side creating many goal scoring chances.
The young Canaries improved second half but gave away two sloppy goals and were caught on the break late on trying to force their way back into the game after having played some of their best football.
Speaking to canaries.co.uk after the match, Academy Manager Ricky Martin said: "I was disappointed with how we let the game slip in the second half. We will now be focussing on bouncing back against Southampton next weekend."
