CITY Academy's away day blues continued as they lost 3-1 to West Ham United in the FA Premier Academy League.
City started the game brightly but found themselves on the back foot and conceded twice in the first half to trail 2-0 at the break.
Nick Barrett opened the scoring converting after Robert Hall squared. Christian Montano doubled the lead heading in a corner.
The second half saw a much improved performance from Ricky Martin's men and they controlled possession for long periods of the half creating some good chances.
Midfielder Matt Ball was sent off just after the hour mark for a professional foul on Hall. Despite the numerical disadvantage, winger Josh Dawkin pulled one back for City with a neat finish.
Within a minute of scoring the Hammers hit back instantly. Montano ran half the length of pitch to restore their two-goal advantage which saw West Ham run out 3-1 winners.
Speak to canaries.co.uk after the match, Academy Manager Ricky Martin said: "I was very pleased with the second half performance, especially after we were reduced to ten men for the last half hour."
