MATT IS ON THE BALL FOR CITY ACADEMY

Posted on: Sat 06 Mar 2010

A SOLITARY goal from midfielder Matt Ball gave Norwich City Academy a 1-0 away win over Portsmouth in the FA Premier Academy League.

City played very well first half and created some very good chances but a combination of good goalkeeping and poor finishing meant it was only 1-0 at the break.

The goal came from Matt Ball, but was a real team goal, with the midfielder finishing well from outside the area.

The young Canaries still dominated possession in the second half but didn't carry the same cutting edge.

Academy Manager Ricky Martin told canaries.co.uk: "I was really pleased with how we played and the four Under-16s that started, making the performance even better."
