BERTRAND WELCOMES RETURN
RYAN Bertrand has said that he is delighted about his return to Carrow Road, after confirming another loan spell with the Canaries earlier this month.
Currently with the England U19 international squad who are taking part in the European Under-19 Championships, Bertrand said it was not a difficult decision to come back to Carrow Road. Quoted in the Norwich Evening News, Bertrand commented: "It was quite a comfortable and easy decision to go back to the club. It's a family club - everything from the players to the management, the staff to the fans was really positive. It's a pleasure to play for them again. In football, one of the main things about going out on loan is it helps you mature really quickly - having to deal with life experiences.
"You develop more. You learn different things to what you would playing reserve team games - being out there playing for points and playing with people when it's their careers, it really makes you grow up."
Referring to Glenn Roeder, the 18 year-old said: "He's done really well. He's turned the club round and saved it from relegation last time. He's made a good few signings already so I hope this season we can really kick on."
Bertrand joined the Canaries on loan during the January transfer window of last season, remaining with the team for the rest of the campaign. Making 18 league appearances for Norwich and playing a significant role in helping City avoid relegation. City boss Glenn Roeder has further secured the Chelsea youngster for the first half of the 2008-09 campaign.
