CITY goalscorer Jamie Cureton agreed it had been a Jekyll and Hyde performance against Barnet in the Carling Cup.
Cureton marked his return to Carrow Road after 11 years with a brace against the Bees as City stormed into a five-goal lead inside the first 31 minutes.
But after the break it was a different story as City took their foot off the pedal and allowed the visitors to score twice.
Boss Peter Grant was less than happy with the second 45 minutes, and even criticised Cureton for not squaring the ball to substitute David Strihavka for a simple tap-in in the second half.
But Cureton agreed it had been a game where fans had seen the best and worst of the Canaries.
"Yeah, he's not pleased," said Cureton, when asked about his manager's reaction to the game. "I thought first half we performed very well and obviously got ourselves a great cushion being five goals up. And then second half it wasn't how we played in the first half really.
"The manager demands high standards and we demand them from ourselves so it wasn't good enough. As well as we played in the first half, we played as badly in the second."
All the same, Cureton was delighted to get out of the blocks on his homecoming for the Canaries.
"It's been a while," smiled the 31-year-old, winner of last season's Championship golden boot. "It was important for me on a personal level to get the first goal out of the way. Obviously that came quite early so I'm pleased in that respect.
"That's two goals out of the way now and hopefully I can just carry that on."
