BRANFORD ARMS WIN COLNEY COMP

Posted on: Tue 09 Oct 2007

LOCAL Sunday League side, Branford Arms, have been chosen to attend a once in a lifetime training session at Norwich City's state-of-the-art Colney training centre.

The Division 4a outfit were selected by Norwich City coaches and Flybe representatives ahead of a host of adult sides who wanted to experience life as a pro for the day.

For the lucky winners it will be the chance of a lifetime as they will be invited for a full training session led by City legends Bryan Gunn and Jeremy Goss, followed by a match against a team made up of local media representatives.

They will begin with a session with the Head of Sports Science, Dave Carolan, who will take them through some of the finer details, explaining the club's Prozone computer system and how to maximise players' energy levels, before the team head out for their skills and basic training session with Gunny and Gossy.

After a tough work-out, they will then enjoy lunch in the players' canteen alongside a selection of first team players, have a behind-the-scenes tour of the training centre and then take to the Academy Arena for the match against the media team.

Simon Lilley, Director of Marketing, Flybe said: "Being sponsors of Norwich City Football Club for Flybe is about giving the community chances that wouldn't normally be within reach. The club was very keen to help us make the idea become reality and we now are about to give one set of local footballers a day to remember. There are a host of other projects in the pipeline that will undoubtedly be massively popular with football lovers."

As an airline serving the UK regions that also makes a significant investment to local football and the communities it serves, Flybe is proud of the initiatives that it supports throughout the UK, Ireland and continental Europe.

Lilley added: "Flybe is dedicated to Norwich City and to providing efficient and affordable travel options to and from its east of England UK base coupled with the commitment to continuing to develop our comprehensive programme of community investment."
