DUBLIN SET TO TRAVEL
DION Dublin is expected to be fit and well to make the trip to Blackpool tonight (kick off 7.45pm).
The 38-year-old went off in the last minute of the weekend's 2-0 win over Coventry, with the striker apparently suffering a touch of cramp.
But the former England man has not reported any adverse reaction over the weekend, and looks set to join his team mates for the trip to Bloomfield Road.
"Dion wasn't too concerned and I didn't get a phone call yesterday, so I would like to think he is not going to be a problem," City boss Glenn Roeder told Monday morning's press conference.
"If he is a problem it would be a slight one which wouldn't keep him out for more than one game and he'd be okay again for the weekend.
"You just have to be very careful with him because he is very important to the team, not just on the field, but obviously that is where his major role is. He is a major player for us so we have to take care of him."
Otherwise, Roeder has only the long term injury casualties Adam Drury (knee) and Matthew Gilks (ankle) to worry about as he chases City's first back-to-back league wins of the season.
It means Roeder may well decide to field an unchanged side for the trip to Simon Grayson's fellow strugglers, with Darren Huckerby possibly having to make-do with a place on the bench after completing a three-match ban.
It could also mean there is no instant return to the squad for those left out for Norwich's weekend win, their first in 11 league games.
The likes of Simon Lappin, Ian Murray, David Strihavka, Chris Martin, Julien Brellier, Michael Spillane and Jimmy Smith all missed out on either a starting berth or a place on the bench.
But Roeder hoped they would respond in the right way in trying to force their way back into his thinking again.
"Of course there is a way back for them," he said. "If any of them show an attitude that if they didn't play Saturday they would keel over they wont be here as long as they probably think they are going to be.
"I want a reaction from those players that weren't involved because that will push the ones who are in the side to do better in training and carry on playing well in games, otherwise they wont retain their shirt."
Blackpool are unbeaten at home this season, but still find themselves in relegation danger, along with the Canaries.
Boss Grayson is expected to welcome back winger Wes Hoolahan after overcoming a chest infection which ruled him out of the defeat at Southampton at the weekend. Fellow forward Keigan Parker also missed the game due to a family illness, but is expected to be on the bench.
