FANS RENEW IN FORCE
WITH the final season ticket deadline having passed, 19,855 Canary fans have renewed for the 2008-09 campaign.
This year's figure is up on last season's final total of 19,714 season tickets sold.
With so many committing to watch Glenn Roeder's side at Carrow Road next season, just 145 season tickets remain on sale before the Club's 20,000 season ticket cap is reached.
Within this new figure are 1,335 new season ticket holders, including 485 under 16s - a reflection of next year's expansion of family priced seats throughout the Norwich and Peterborough Stand.
The Club's direct debit interest-free scheme has also been a success with just over 11,000 supporters using the initiative to spread payment for their seat over 12 months.
A total of 485 people still remain on the season ticket waiting list, having elected not to take up the option of a seat for 2008-09.
Commenting on the figures, Norwich City's Director of Sales and Marketing Andrew Cullen said: "Norwich City Football Club is extremely grateful to supporters for their unprecedented support in purchasing season tickets for the new campaign, which in the context of our final league position in May has exceeded all of our expectations.
"The Football Club is determined to commit to affordable family football, and is encouraged that nearly 500 new under-16 season tickets have been purchased.
"This commitment is also underlined by a 20 per cent increase amongst all season ticket holders who have elected to spread their payments interest-free over 12 months. The Club is conscious of the current squeeze on family household budgets and trusts that this scheme has helped a number of fans to continue to support their football club," he said.
This week saw the start of the annual 'Movers and Shakers' event at Carrow Road, which allows both current and new season ticket holders to come along and choose and change the location of their seats for the new season.
The Club's ticket office was greeted by a queue of people waiting to take advantage of this opportunity on Monday morning and supporters have until 2pm on Saturday, May 31 to take part.
