GLENN Roeder hopes he is closing in on his first summer signing - with several more on the way.
The City boss told First News he understood some fans were concerned about the need to bring players in and urged them to 'stand firm'.
He commented: "Next season is going to be an exciting one for the fans as they will be seeing a new team on and off the pitch. We need to get new players in obviously, preferably as many as possible, as soon as possible because of course training starts again in July.
"I have a list of players that I want to bring in and there isn't one player on that list who has turned up at another club. Unfortunately these days it's not quite as easy as it used to be, where you could just phone up a club, speak to a player and then everything was done and dusted within 48 hours. These days it takes a lot longer, especially with agents involved in the process.
"I would however urge our supporters not to be impatient and to stand firm. I would like to think that we will have our first breakthrough soon and then four or five will follow soon after."
Meanwhile Roeder pointed out any loan signings were more likely to come towards the end of the summer transfer window. "It's no secret that we'll be potentially looking to add to the permanent signings we bring in to the Club with some loan players. Clubs are understandably reluctant to let many players go out on loan until they know themselves how their squad looks, so they tend to let them out later in the summer," he explained.
