SWEDEN A SUCCESS FOR FOZZY
CITY Captain Mark Fotheringham has told canaries.co.uk that he is enjoying the pre-season tour in Sweden.
The 24-year-old spoke whilst preparing for today's game against Falkerbergs FF, and said that it had been a great experience. "It's been good, it's been nice to get over here and spend a bit of time with the boys.
"The training is going really well and it's a good facility up here. The lads certainly seem to be enjoying it. People don't realise that you are doing a lot of training before and after these games so you can be a bit tired during the matches but that's what it is all about. When you're tired you need to concentrate more and when it comes to the start of the Championship games you're hopefully ready for it."
On team bonding and the latest additions to the team getting to know the rest of the lads, the Norwich skipper added: "This is what these trips are for, to get away. You're basically living together 24 hours a day at the moment but that's the same with all pre-seasons.
" It's good to get away with the boys and get a bit of team spirit, especially with the new boys because they get a chance to get to know the other guys as well.
"Obviously we have been away on our holidays for seven or eight weeks and then you are straight back into it and basically living in each others pockets for a good month before the season starts but you've got to be like that if you want to be successful. You need to know your team mates inside out and it's this moment of time that you get to do that."
As the new season fast approaches, Fozzy was asked how the newest players were settling in and learning about their team mates.
"I take it upon myself with whoever comes into the Club to go up and introduce myself and then introduce the boys to them. In this day and age most of the lads use the internet so I'm sure they are on the website looking up which players are here. We have played against the players who are coming in so we know exactly who is coming in and they know what Norwich is all about as well. It's a good Club and I'm sure they are all excited to be here."
