KENNEDY LOAN DEAL CONFIRMED
CITY boss Glenn Roeder has confirmed that central defender John Kennedy has joined the Club from Celtic in a loan deal until January 1.
However, the Canaries are still waiting on international clearance from the Scottish FA before the 24-year-old can feature in Roeder's team. If this is not received before 5pm today the young Scot will not be able to play in City's friendly with Colchester United on Saturday (5pm kick-off).
Speaking after City's friendly against Tottenham, Glenn Roeder said: "He saw the game, I'm sure he can't wait to get started, and I hope we can involve him in the game on Saturday against Colchester. When you see him, he's a real presence, you certainly wouldn't want to pick a fight with him on a Saturday night. He's a player that I've met twice now, I'm very impressed with his attitude, and he's obviously got very strong mental toughness to come through the injuries that he has.
"He now deserves luck to stay fit and not break down again. If he does and he helps us to a good first half of the season, then he's working back to full fitness to go back to Celtic in the second half of the season. As an eighteen, nineteen-year-old, he was at times in the Champion's League playing the opposition on his own. He looked like the best player to come out of Scotland for 30, 40 years.
"We had to fight off a couple of other Championship clubs and I think that the effort which we put in - meeting him, talking to him, convincing him and making sure things are going to be right for his family - we'll make sure they get settled very quickly and if he's happy with family life I know he'll be happy in training and he'll be happy in his games."
