AFTER a frustrating wait for clearance from the Scottish FA, John Kennedy has spoken of his delight at finally making his debut for City.

After joining Norwich on loan from Celtic, the 24-year-old defender was witnessed by the Canary faithful in City's last friendly of the pre-season against Colchester, alongside fellow Norwich debutant, Arturo Lupoli.

Asked how it felt to at last appear on the pitch at Carrow Road, Kennedy made his satisfaction clear. "It's a really good ground, and I was excited all week just to get involved - I was hoping that I could get involved in the game against Spurs but my clearance didn't come through in time.

"I'm delighted to finally get my Norwich shirt on and get playing - the clearance issue was frustrating, and I've been really looking forward to playing a game here. I was a bit rusty against Colchester, it's been a while since I've played a full game, but it was good to get it under my belt. That should stand me in good stead for the future."

The Scotsman is one of 10 signings to join City so far this summer, and was asked how it felt being one of the new faces amongst Glenn Roeder's team. "All of them have been fantastic, I know a couple of them already but the rest of them have been very welcoming as well. The management have also been really good to me, so I don't have any complaints.

"I'm looking forward to this season, it'll be a new challenge for me because I've been at Celtic all my career so it's different here and I'm just getting used to it. I want to do my best for Norwich and see what happens. The boys are ready to get going now, and we're all aiming for Coventry and looking forward to it."
