CITY DUO TO JOIN HATTERS ON LOAN
CITY youngsters Chris Martin and Micheal Spillane have joined League Two side Luton Town on loan for the season, subject to Football League approval of the deals.
Striker Chris Martin has made 30 first team appearances (12 as sub) since his debut in January 2007, scoring five times. The 19-year-old's early promise saw him win call-ups for the England Under-19s squad, scoring on his debut against Turkey in March 2007.
Midfielder Micheal Spillane is also set to join Mick Harford's side. The 18-year-old is a Republic of Ireland Under-19 international has made ten City first team appearances, six of which came as a substitute.
Glenn Roeder commented: "They have gone on loan, to the same club, for one year. I'm looking to bring in a striker, a defender and a utility midfielder, someone who can play across the midfield.
"I'm in talks with one player and I'm hoping to bring in another young loan player from the Premiership desperate for some experience. Letting players out on loan was always something Harry Redknapp did when I worked with him and it's something I believe in too. It helps to develop the players' careers and can change them from boys into men."
