HIS recent summer shake-up of the Norwich City squad has left Glenn Roeder with competitive options in the left-back position for the game against Blackpool at Carrow Road.

With Adam Drury playing a full 90 minutes against MK Dons on Tuesday, the City favourite has suffered no adverse post-match reaction after injury problems have seen him miss first team football since October last year. Meanwhile loan signing Ryan Bertrand is on the comeback trail after suffering an injury during the game against Spurs in the Canaries' pre-season, but Roeder is keeping his cards close to his chest about who will get the nod for the Seasiders clash .

"Ryan has trained with the reserve group this week. I'm not naming my team for the Blackpool game, I won't let that be known until kick-off. I don't think there's any problems from Tuesday. We'll have a count-up this morning for the ones who missed Tuesday and I'm relatively hopeful of those."

Adam Drury returned to the City starting line-up on Tuesday, after a ten-month spell spent recovering from a hamstring injury. The City boss was pleased by the defender's performance at the stadiummk.

"Adam was terrific, the only thing I'm concerned about with him is the 'bounce effect'. When you drop a ball, the first bounce is the highest and then it just gets lower and lower. So we need to be careful with him, he might play and he might not. If he doesn't play it will be nothing to do with his performance - I thought that in Tuesday's game he was very, very good.

"The longer he played the better he was getting but he needs to strengthen up his hamstring on the leg which he had his operation on. We can make it strong but it will take time - he will train, he will play, but he will have his own special strengthening programme for that leg to protect him. I need him to stay fit all year because he will play many games for us. He has the experience and quality that you're looking for - he was in the team which won promotion."
