FOZZY READY FOR BLUEBIRDS
CITY captain Mark Fotheringham is looking forward to the challenge of this Saturday's game against Cardiff.
The Norwich skipper says the game will be a good test for the Canaries."It's going to be a tough game, they've brought in some big-name strikers as well, and they're hoping to challenge just like ourselves this year.
"It'll be a good test, it's never an easy place to go, I'm sure they'll want to get revenge on us after we beat them last season. If we get a goal away you'll see what we're all about - what we've got to do is keep playing the way we start the games, we start on fire and we just need to continue that and keep believing that we're going to score.
"We've got players there that can score goals, we're all tight and everybody's working as hard as they can and I'm sure luck is going to go our way soon."
Recent months have seen Glenn Roeder bringing in 11 new faces in total. Fozzy said although this season sees a different squad, he was confident that it is one full of quality: "Last season I was so used to having Darren (Huckerby) out on the wing and Dion (Dublin) up-front, it's a totally different game now.
"You know that Wes can kill teams off because he'll thread that final ball, and you've also got Sammy who's playing deeper than me this year, he's playing more or less my role of last season. It's all new to the players and there's a lot of new guys that have come in this season but as you can see the quality is there. We played Coventry who are tipped for big things this year and I felt we ran all over them, there were guys going down with cramp in the second half.
"With Blackpool, the stats are showing that we out-passed them, out-tackled them, and had more shots on target, so it's just that final thing of putting the ball in the back of the net. That's why strikers nowadays go for so much money."
"You could see against Blackpool when our goal went in, the standard of our play went up again and it was a big weight off everybody's shoulders. We've all started to relax and do what we're good at and that's moving the ball around the pitch and getting chances.
"We're not making excuses, the facts are that we're playing some good football. It does get frustrating and I keep saying to the lads that we shouldn't let it annoy us because we are doing the right things, we just need to concentrate on shooting more and get to know each other a little bit better, to know when someone's in that position to give them the ball on the correct foot and things like that. That's why we're out there doing double training sessions, because we're trying to take it forward."
