DAVID Bell is battling hard to recover from injury and says he can't wait to play for his new Club.

The 24-year-old picked up an ankle injury in pre-season training, and has since been a spectator to his team's season so far.

"It's been a bit of a nightmare, getting injured in the pre-season is the worst time for any player," said Bell. "Hopefully I've put most of the weeks behind me now so I hope I'll be back in training next week and then after a couple of weeks be back amongst it.

"I just can't wait to get going, it's been annoying  but I'm just trying to keep my chin up now and look forward to training next week. After I get some training and some reserve games under my belt, it's the manager's decision when he thinks I'm ready to come back in. I'm definitely an attacking midfield player, I like to get the ball at my feet and get at people, create a few chances and hopefully get the ball in myself."

As one of the latest additions to the Canary squad, Bell was asked for his thoughts on City's season so far.  "It's been a little bit frustrating, but I've only seen the home games - certainly against Blackpool I thought we dominated the game.

"It's not like we're playing bad football, we just need to get the ball into the back of the net and I'm sure we will do. The main thing is that we're creating the chances, if we weren't then it would be worrying, but the boys are playing really well and I just need to get fit so I can be a part of that.

"Pre-season is the worst time to get injured because you're always playing catch-up. The sooner I can get back in amongst it, the better."

As Norwich prepare to travel to Ninian Park for this weekend's game against Cardiff, thoughts amongst the City team are turning to the future.  "I just think we've got to do more of the same, the team are playing really well," the ex-Luton player said. "We're creating a lot of chances and I think if we just get in that early goal then a lot of teams will be in for a good hiding this season."
