CARDIFF A BOOST FOR KENNEDY
JOHN Kennedy says City's comeback against Cardiff has given the team an important boost in confidence.
Despite Norwich not getting off to the best start in last weekend's game against the Bluebirds, they managed to turn things around thanks to two goals from substitute Arturo Lupoli.
Central defender Kennedy told First News: "We've struggled to score a bit and Arturo has come on and scored two. We've been waiting for that reaction from us for us to get a goal or two in a game and hopefully that can stand us in good stead and open the floodgates so we can get goals coming in from elsewhere.
"It's given us a little lift, it was getting to a point where things really weren't going our way. We've conceded three penalties in three games and been unlucky not to come away with six points from the first two games. We just need to look forward and get ready for Birmingham, and we need to put the performance in and hit the back of the net and win matches.
"We have shown great character, at two-nil down against Cardiff we could have easily have put our heads down and thought the game was over but we certainly didn't do that. We pushed all the way to the end and to come over with a point is a good result - but we have to start picking up three points from now on."
Kennedy joined Norwich this summer on loan from Celtic until January, and is still a relatively new face in the City squad. "It's been ok, it is always difficult coming somewhere new," said the 25-year-old. "I've got my kid and my partner down with me so that's been a big help, they've settled down as well.
"Obviously I'm not at home but I'm enjoying it just as much down here, it's something new for me and I'm excited by it. The Club has been great, and if you're settled off the park, you'll be more comfortable on the park, so it's a big help. I'm enjoying my time so far, long may that continue and you never know what is round the corner."
On his partnership with fellow defender Dejan Stefanovic, Kennedy added: "It's been good, he's been really good, for the both of us it is something new and you just have to get used to one another. I think we have coped pretty well so far and has been easy to get used to the way Dejan plays and hopefully likewise for him."
This weekend will see the Canaries play host to Birmingham, and as City prepare to take on the Blues Kennedy said City aren't fazed by meeting the top three side. "It is obviously going to be a tough game but we don't change our preparation for any teams.
"We just do our own thing, the same as we did last week and the week before and hopefully this weekend we can get three points."
