CURO HOPING TO PLAY AGAINST BLUES
JAMIE Cureton says he hopes to put last weekend's penalty miss behind him when City take on high-flying Birmingham at Carrow Road today (3pm).
The City striker rolled the ball wide of the Bluebird's goal after stepping up to take the spot-kick last Saturday and was later replaced by OJ Koroma in the 62nd minute.
On missing the penalty, Cureton said: "I've missed before, I've missed and taken penalties in the same game - it affects you at the time but you just get on with it. I think the key thing for me is to get another game in straight away and just get going and then we can get that game out of the way.
"If I don't play then my last game is still Cardiff and I need to play - whether that's a whole game or 25 minutes I need some sort of game and the more the better. If I don't, then I'll go into a two-week break with my last game being against Cardiff which isn't great. These things happen but it would be nice to get some sort of game tomorrow, if not all of it, and put in a great performance."
"I killed myself enough over the weekend but that's it now, I've got to move on. Our confidence is obviously a bit higher, and wherever you are if your confidence goes up you play better. You either go one way or the other and I think missing the penalty affected my game and I ended up not playing well."
As City prepare to play host to Birmingham at Carrow Road this weekend, Cureton said he would relish the chance to be involved in such an important game. "Playing Birmingham, with them at the top of the table, it's a massive occasion for us."
