ARTURO Lupoli has told First News he is delighted to welcome Frenchman Antoine Sibierski to Carrow Road on loan from Wigan.

Speaking exclusively to canaries.co.uk, the Italian striker said as well as looking forward to his new team-mate joining the City squad, he was also positive about the competition Sibierski would bring to the team.

"Sibierski is a good player coming in from the Premiership, so he will be very helpful for the Norwich team and he's the type of player that we're looking for. The manager now knows that he has more options and that is good for the team.

"Of course, there is always competition, I'm confident but I know I will have to work hard for my place in the squad. I will do my best to get into the starting line-up for the Plymouth game."

Lupoli scored two goals for City when they drew 2-2 with Cardiff at Ninian Park. After Norwich's draw with the Bluebirds, Lupoli said scoring twice had not only been a confidence boost for himself, but also the team as a whole. Lupoli was asked if that lift in optimism was still there during the international break: "Of course, it's still there and I think I had a good personal performance against Birmingham as well. You just have to keep going and more goals will come and now with new players I'm sure we'll do well."

"It's going really well for me here, training has been good and this week it's very important to me and the team to keep up match fitness, ready for the next game. We have new players as well so this week is very important for us and we're looking forward to the next game."

Currently with the Canaries on a season-long loan deal,  would Lupoli take up the chance of staying at Norwich on a permanent basis if the chance were offered to him? He answered: "We'll just have to see how the season goes and if we get in a good position and I do well for the team, you never know."
