LEE Croft has told First News he's delighted to welcome his former Manchester City team-mate Antoine Sibierski to the Norwich squad.

Croft played for Man City between 2004-06, during which time he worked alongside the 34-year-old Frenchman. Croft said he was pleased to see the familiar face join the Canaries, late on the transfer deadline: "Antoine's come in, I played with him at Manchester City and he's trained with us for the first time this week.

"He's a really good finisher, he's got a good technique and I'm sure he'll score goals for us."

Speaking exclusively to canaries.co.uk, Croft was asked whether he thought he would have to change his style now he had a big targetman to cross the ball to. He answered: "No, I don't think I have to change my style but it will help having him. We've had Jamie and Lupoli who are quick and sharp, and now we've got Antoine who is a real presence in there, and I'm sure the mixture of three or four strikers that we've got will pay in dividends."

This week saw Manchester City welcome Brazilian striker Robinho, as well as a takeover by the Abu Dhabi United Group. After a busy week at his old Club, Crofty commented: "It's been crazy, it's good for the club and I'm sure the fans and all the players there will be happy. If they get that sort of money in and buy players like Robinho then I'm sure that there's going to be a great future ahead for the club and the people involved.

The 23-year-old said that along with his Norwich City team-mates, he wasn't distracted by speculation regarding the financial future of the Club: "We don't think about it, we see what's in the papers but we don't pay attention to it.

"The only thing we pay attention to is training during the week, working hard and getting out on a Saturday afternoon and trying to win games."

With the international break denying City a game this weekend, thoughts are turning to next weekend's game away at Plymouth. As Norwich prepare to take on The Pilgrims, Croft said he was hoping to be in Glenn Roeder's plans for the game:  "I'm looking to start in every game but it's the gaffer's decision. All I can do is train well and come on and do well when I get the opportunities, and try and force his hand.

"Obviously it was frustrating because we didn't get the three points against Birmingham and the win that we deserved, but we've had a good week's training which has allowed us to get on with other things, and now we're looking forward to the Plymouth game."
