ON THE BALL FROM CARROW ROAD
On The Ball written by Benedict Cordy.
Full-time: City 1 Derby 2
90+4: Derby are taking as much times on throw ins as possible. And it's worked, the referee blows his whistle. Another game that City will feel that they should have got something from.
90+2: City are managing to keep ahold of the ball but aren't threatening Bywater. City have a corner though. Bertrand to take. The ball is cleared and falls to bell on the edge of the area but he can't connect with the ball.
90th: Half chance for City. Fozzy chips a ball towards the box which Sibierski heads down in the path of Lita. Leacock manages to get across Leroy and his shot runs wide. Five minutes to be added.
85th: Completely against the run of play Derby have scored. The Derby defence pump a ball deep into the City half. Ellington chases it with Drury covering but Marshall comes as well, Ellington turns and hits a shot with his left as it rolls over the line into the empty net. Nightmare stuff for the City fans.
81st: Lupoli wins City a corner. Bell sends a right footed cross in that Lita meets, it looked the ball came off Leacock but the referee points for a goalkick.
80th: Arturo Lupoli comes on for Lee Croft. Bell switches to the right.
78th: Nice move from City. Bell broke down the left, played the ball through to Sibierski who tried to lay the ball off to Lita. Unfortuantely the Frenchan couldn't release his pass quick enough meaning Lita was just offside when the ball was played.
75th: Bell sends in a cross from the left with his right foot, Lita manages to get his head to it but it clears Bywater's bar. The 'keeper, much like the last time Derby were here is taking his time over everything....
74th: Derby make their final change as Ellington comes on for Davies.
73rd: City continue to push forward. Stewart goes in the book for dessent.
69th: Today's attendance is 24,771
67th: A great last minute tackle from Sammy Clingan denies Davies a great chance to give the visitors the lead.
65th: Kazmierczak goes in the book after being on the pitch for about three minutes. Nasty tackle on Russell.
62nd: Daid Bell is coming on to make his debut for the Canaries, he replaces OJ on the left.
61st: Bywater is called into action as he comes out to collect a Croft cross from the right.
58th: Otsemobor receives applause as he is carried past the Barclay.
56th: Otsemobor is still down after hurting his right leg in a challenge. Fotheringham is warming up to replace him.
55th: City are using their one man advantage well, finding space all over the park.
52nd: City have come alive! Croft breaks down the right and sends a cross deep to the back post, It looks Koroma bound but sub 'keeper Bywater manages to palm the ball to safety.
51th: Sammy steps up..................and scores!!!!! He fires the ball hard in low into the bottom left hand corner. Come on City!!!!
49th: Penalty to City!!!! Leroy Lita headed the ball past Roy Carroll and the 'keeper stuck an arm out and caught the striker in the face. Clingan will take. Carroll is shown the red!
48th: City have a corner. Cligna takes but the Rams clear and look to counter.
47th: It's a bit of football tennis at the moment, the teams need to get the ball on the deck in this wind.
The teams are back out. Derby will get the second-half underway, The Canaries are now attacking the Barclay. Come on City!
Half-time: City 0 Derby 1
45th: Three minutes to be added.
44th: Russell tries to send Lita through with a header but Carroll comes out quickly to collect.
42nd: Davies sends a corner deep to the back post and Hulse beats the City defenders to it, thankfully his effort is off target and goes wide of the right hand post.
41st: Rusty gets a snap-shot away with his left but it fails to threaten Carroll and roles wide of his post.
39th: Good chance for the visitors there. left-back Stewart managed to get a cross in and found Davies who had a free header. He attempted to place it around Marshall but it goes well wide of the post. He should have done better with that one.
36th: Clingan spreads the ball wide allowing Bertrand to get a cross into the box. Lita manages to get to it but his hider runs wide.
34th: we appear to be having some sort of American timeout! The play has just stopped and all the players are having a drink. The referee's assistant has been replaced by the fourth official. All very strange that.
29th: Free-kick to City in shooting range. Clingan and Koroma stand over it. OJ takes it and forces Roy Carroll into a diving save tipping the ball over the bar. It's a good corner from Clingan but the Rams manage to clear it.
27th: Hulse goes in the book for a foul on Otsemobor. Semmy receives treatment from Simon Spencer.
26th: Derby take the lead. The corner is met by Rob Hulse on the back post and he headers in from close range.
26th: OJ comes back to help defend putting the ball out for a Derby corner.
21st: Leacock goes in the book for a foul on Darel Russell.
19th: OJ has another chance. Croft sends a low cross across the face of goal and finds Koroma. He takes a touch and tries to curl it round Carroll in the Derby goal. Unfortunately it goes just wide of the right hand post. Good work from Crofty on the wing.
15th: City's best chance of the game. Lita fired the ball across the six-yard box, Oj met it but his shot was blocked by a Connolly sliding tackle. The defender then appeared to use his hand on the floor before the defence managed to get it clear. The young Gambian was unlucky there not to score his first goal for City there.
14th: Elliot Omozusi headers the ball away from a cross from the left. Just aswell he did otherwise Hulse would have been onto it.
12th: Marshall has to come out of his box and header the ball clear before Villa closed it down.
12th: A nice link-up between Lita and OJ on the left flank. Promising.
9th: Steven Davies fires a shot at Marshall which the 'keeper puts out for a corner. It's an easy catch for Marsh from the corner.
8th: The Snakepit are in good voice today, I think they are waiting for the Barclay stand to get going. It's been a quiet start on the pitch, the majority of the play in the centre of the park.
4th: Captain Darel Russell goes into the book for a tackle on Miles Addison. It looked like he won the ball from here.
3rd: Derby have throw-in which reaches the six-yard box but City clear with Clingan.
1st: Good to see Sammy Clingan back from injury and he is involved straight away linking up with Croft and Semmy.
The teams swap ends and City will get us underway kicking towards the N & P stand.
It's a cold one here at Carrow Road and there is a little bit of rain in the air. It's a good turn out from both sets of supporters. The team come out of the tunnel to U2, the City fans are in good voice already. Come on City!
There are three changes in City's line-up for this afternoon. Adam Drury returns to the starting line-up along with Sammy Clingan who has now recovered from an injury to his shoulder. OJ Koroma earns his first start at Carrow Road as Leroy Lita makes his City debut. Fotheringham is on the bench so Darel Russell has been given the captain's armband.
