CITY'S Lee Croft says he was frustrated at the result of the Canaries 3-1 defeat at Derby and said missed chances cost the Norwich squad all three points.
Despite being displeased with the result of their match against the Rams, Croft told canaries.co.uk the confidence gained from their recent wins at home was still amongst the Canary squad.
"It was a frustrating night, we went behind again," said Croft. "In both halves we had a few chances, we came out in the second half and gave ourselves a bit of a lifeline, we got a goal back but then conceded another sloppy goal at the end. I think we have missed chances again and at the end of the day we haven't got three points, and that's disappointing.
"I thought Leroy was going to score but it wasn't to be, we're not going to blame Leroy for missing a chance because he's scored a lot of goals over the last couple of games. He's a good finisher, he put it wide and he was unlucky."
He continued: "The confidence hasn't gone and we need to make sure the confidence doesn't go and we continue playing and continue to try and win games, the good thing about football is that there's another game on Saturday to put it right. We've not done ourselves justice against Derby so we'll go away to Burnley on Saturday and put on a better performance and hopefully a winning performance."
Norwich manager Glenn Roeder made two substitutions at half time during the game at Pride Park. Croft was asked for his thoughts on what could possibly have been missing in the first half of the match. He replied: "I think we started all right, the first ten, 15 minutes we were playing the ball around and as soon as they score it knocks the wind out of you. It happens on quite a few occasions, we're playing with the ball and we're getting nice touches and we're getting to grips with the game, and then they go and net one down the other end.
"It's frustrating, it knocks the wind out of you. The gaffer said a few words to us at half-time and made a few changes, and I thought we gave it more fight in the second half and had them on the rack, but they went and scored again and it killed the game."
On the continued away support of Canary fans, 23-year-old Croft added: "They are brilliant, and we do want to give them something to cheer about. They're brilliant, they come to every away game they travel with us and support us, and if we want to do something in the league we need to produce something away from home like we did at Plymouth.
"That seems a long time ago now and we need to reproduce that form away from home."
