16.55 - Lonergan takes a free-kick from inside his area and that brings about the full-time whistle. Goals from Leroy Lita and John Kennedy not enough for City this afternoon, 14 goals in the last three matches at Carrow Road.

16.51 - The rare commodity of a foul throw given by referee Taylor against Bell, three minutes of injury-time to be played.

16.49 - Good low save from Marshall from sub Chris Sedgewick late on here at Carrow Road. From the resulting corner Marshall plucks a header out of the area, nervy moments with one minute plus change and injury-time left.

16.46 - David Bell has looked good in a City shirt since his first few cameo sub appearances through to his starts, technically very good with sound delivery from wide areas and set-pieces. Got a trick or two in his locker as well.

Your Shout from the Message Board
"Bell has clearly been superb.

Great to see him find some form, always rated him as a player."

16.42 - Neil Mellor has equalised for Preston, the former Liverpool man curls an effort from twenty yards passed the despairing dive of Marshall. Bad two minutes for City. Eight minutes left here at Carrow Road.

16.41 - Darel Russell has been sent off for raising his hand to the face of Ross Wallace.

16.39 - Leroy Lita goes in to the book for shooting over having been ruled offside from a Cureton flick-on. He put his effort over as well to boot.

16.38 - Lee Croft leaves the pitch to a loud ovation having run his heart out as usual. Matty Pattison is City's final sub and he goes over to the right flank.

16.34 - Bell is booked for a foul on Billy Jones. Meanwhile some good footwork and battling by Cureton in the Preston box sees him dink a clever low pass across the six yard area towards Croft but the winger is half a yard short of connecting.

16.32 - Nearly three as a storming City breakaway down the right sees Otsemobor motor the length of the pitch to overlap with Crofty. As he races into the box he chooses to pass across the box and it's cleared - too unselfish in my opinion as the shot was on.

16.29 - That's Kennedy's second goal for the Canaries and my pre-match prediction of a 2-1 City win is on course. I'd rather it finished three or four though obviously!

16.26 - GET IN! It's 2-1 and the influential David Bell is the creator. His superb curling free-kick eludes everyone in the box except for John Kennedy arriving at the back post. He stretches to volley goalwards from close range and Lonergan can only palm it into the net at his near post.

16.20 - Positive from David Bell, the winger cuts in from the leg and unleashes a right-footed shot that Lonergan saves smartly low down to his left, Neil Mellor comes on for the visitors in place of Stephen Elliott.

16.19 - Neil Mellor is being readied in front of us for Preston. David Bell just brought down Bertrand's line ball with an exquisite touch on the line but the assistant referee ruled that it had already gone out of play.

16.16 - City create the first chance of the second half, Cureton meets Lita's cross with a glancing header, a glance not enough on this ocassion.

16.15 - Today's attendance is announced as 23,225.

16.08 - Ferrari gives ye olde commentator's kiss-o-death, commenting that Clingan has been his usual tidy self, cue sliced clearance from the former Forest man.

16.07 - Cureton immediately involved at the start of the half, slipping a slide rule pass through to Lita.

16.06 - Referee gets us underway for the second half with City attacking The Barclay.

15.52 - And that's half-time, 1-1 and all to play for!

15.50 - City are finishing the half strongly and Lonergan is forced to make another flying catch to gather a sweeping corner from Bell. Now there's a substitution - and it's City's second forced change as Jamie Cureton comes on for the limping Antoine Sibierski. In the wars a bit today.

15.49 - A chip into the box by Clingan is met by an audacious bicycle kick from Lita which flies well wide. When was the last time a Norwich player scored with a bicycle kick at Carrow Road? I remember one away from home by Paul McVeigh - possibly against PNE?

15.47 - A whopping five minutes of first-half injury time, thanks to the lengthy stoppage when Dejan Stefanovic received treatment to that worrying leg injury.

15.46 - We're hearing that City's Academy side gained an impressive 5-1 win over their Charlton counterparts at Colney earlier today. Good stuff from the lads there.

Your Shout from the Message Board
"That goal was superb reactions and vision from the Frenchman, nothing to do with Clingan."

15.43 - City are getting a little bit of joy down their right flank. This time a nice overlap from Otsemobor sees the right-back freed by Croft to whip in a useful cross which Lonergan dives to claim at full stretch.

15.39 - Ooh, a low cross from Lita gets in behind the PNE defence and they are relieved to bundle it behind for a corner after a wicked deflection caused Lonergan problems. The corner comes to nothing however.

15.37 - Took a sneaky look at the PNE website's live coverage of the game...pithy line along the 'nice to know you're here' lines in connection with our beloved Snakepit. To be fair I've not heard too much from the 300 or so Preston faithful either!

15.31 - Great interchange on the corner of the Preston box by Bertrand and Bell, the former curling in a right-footed effort that knicked off a defender's head on the way and came back off the face of the bar into the path of Croft who dragged his volley wide of the far post.

Your Shout from the Message Board
"If he keeps miss kicking it to set up goals he can do it all he wants as long as we keep scoring off it."

15.29 - I think always is a bit harsh but his assist for Sibierski against Doncaster was pure class, albeit maybe more by accident than design.

Your Shout from the Message Board
"Is it me or can Clingan not kick a ball properly? He is always miss kicking it. He set up Sibi to score against Doncaster cos he scuffed it."
sj_norw17

15.27 - A lovely cushioned flick on by Bell finding himself in behind the strikers into the path of Lita who smashes his effort into the body of the flying Lonergan, a magnificent save that.

15.26 - A big handball shout, Croft's cross goes behind for a corner, ref indicates that the hands were by the body.

15.23 - The dying swan move from Bertrand at the back post, stooping to chest the former Celtic winger Ross Wallace's cross back to Marshall.

15.19 - Lovely patient build-up by City, from defence through midfield to attack and back into midfield, out left then into Sibierski who beats his man inside the box and his cross is blocked for a corner. Simply but effective football.

Your Shout from the Message Board
"Get in Lita pulls us out the Brown stuff again."

15.16 - Two goals inside the opening fifteen minutes today at Carrow Road, 10 in the previous two, let it not be said that this venue doesn't provide goals.

15.15 - YES!!! City are level. Bell's perfectly-placed corner from the left sees the on-loan Reading striker Leroy Lita leap above the on-rushing Lonergan and head home his fifth goal in seven games for the Canaries. All of them have been at Carrow Road!

15.15 - Ian with reference to the fact that Chris Brown finally scores at Carrow Road...!

Your Shout from the Message Board
"hahaha just knew it!"

15.11 - The Doc comes on, let's hope the unfortunate break in play at least gives City the chance to regroup after a decidedly sluggish start to the match.

15.08 - Elliott tries his luck with a 22-yard drive straight at Marshall. Seconds later Dejan Stefanovic goes down awkwardly after challenging for a high ball with Elliott. The stretcher eventually comes out and there's the worrying sight of a leg brace being put on. Hopefully just a precautionary measure as Gary Doherty warms up and prepares to come on.

15.04 - What an awful start. Preston take the lead. McKenna's cross into the box causes Marshall all sorts of problems and as Barry Nicholson attempts to turn the ball goalwards, Jon Otsemobor fails to clear the danger - and former Canary Chris Brown rams home the rebound in front of a stunned Barclay.

15.01 - The teams have marched out through a guard of honour provided by serving and former members of Her Majesty's Armed Services who have been collecting for the Poppy Appeal around the stadium - and we're off, City attacking the Norwich & Peterborough Stand.

14.52 - All over in two games in the Premiership, Arsenal beat Manchester United 2-1 at The Emirates, Frenchman Samir Nasir at the double for the hosts. Stoke earnt a useful point at the JJB Stadium holding Wigan to a goalless draw.

14.35 - Over on the Message Board, 2-1 is the most popular prediction and City have won five of the last seven meetings at Carrow Road between these teams. Into injury-time at The Emirates, six minutes to be added.

14.18 - Cue the mother in law jokes after hrsthenwc comments below! Of course you can follow 'On The Ball' and 'Your Shout' on your mobile phone, the former has full team news.

14.15 - Glenn Roeder makes four changes, three of which are in defence, Otsemobor replaces Omozusi, who is out with a hamstring injury, Stefanovic and Bertrand come in for Doherty and Drury. Antoine Sibierski returns in attack with Darel Russell presumably dropping back into centre midfield in place of Fotheringham. No goalkeeper on the bench but firepower in the form of Cureton and Lupoli.

Your Shout from the Message Board
"We've got to be looking at a win today to try and stop the rot of recent away performances.

Unfortunately I will be dragged away on visits this afternoon and have to settle for TEXT commentary - like City, I will be trying to stop the rot, but of my mother-in-law's cooking!

Good Luck lads - On the ball City!!!"
