TEAM NEWS FROM COLNEY

Posted on: Fri 05 Dec 2008

NORWICH boss Glenn Roeder has been given a reasonably clean bill of health ahead of Sunday's East Anglian derby at Carrow Road.

As the Canaries get ready to entertain their local rivals Ipswich Town at Carrow Road this weekend, Roeder told canaries.co.uk their defensive line-up has been boosted by injury all-clears for Adam Drury, Ryan Bertrand and Elliot Omozusi.

City are currently missing Dejan Stefanovic through serious injury to his knee, and John Kennedy, who is suspended having been dismissed for a professional foul against Sheffield Wednesday and will serve his one-match ban on Sunday. But Drury, Omozusi and Bertrand have each recovered from their respective knocks, with one of the first two likely to fill in for Kennedy at centre-back.

"It's a huge boost having them fit," Roeder told First News. "They've been working hard all week and will continue to work hard over the rest of the week. The physio and the lads themselves are all very confident that come Sunday, they're all going to be fit and available for selection which is very important to us.

"We just have John Kennedy suspended which is a great shame, and we need all the defenders that we have left fit."

The City manager continued: "No one likes to be out when they can see the rest of the team out on the training field playing football and practising what they love doing themselves. The sooner they get fit, the better and they can get back into action with the rest of the squad. They will be with the physio today but tomorrow and Saturday, they'll be with us."
