LITA LOAN EXTENDED

Posted on: Wed 10 Dec 2008

CITY can confirm Reading have agreed to extend Leroy Lita's loan with the Canaries until December 31 and that the relevant paper work for the extension has been completed.

Reading have an instant recall on the striker and he is not eligible to play when City travel to the Madejski Stadium on Saturday.

edp24.co.uk today reported that Reading director of football Nicky Hammond confirmed at lunchtime Lita will stay in Norfolk until the beginning of the New Year after six goals in a successful two month Canaries' stint.

"We have agreed to let Leroy stay at Norwich on loan for another few weeks until the beginning of January," said Hammond. "He will not be eligible to play against us on Saturday but he will be able to get a few more games under his belt. Leroy's loan has gone very well.

"He's put in some great performances and he was excellent in their victory against Ipswich last weekend. It's in everyone's interests to have Leroy fit, up to speed and playing regularly so that if ever we need him he is ready to go straight back in, which is great news."
