AFTER City beat the Blades 1-0 in injury time when the two sides met earlier this season, Glenn Roeder is hoping for a repeat performance in the return fixture this weekend.

Lee Croft's stoppage time goal secured the Canaries their first home win of the season and as he looked ahead to tomorrow's clash with Kevin Blackwell's side, the Norwich boss told First News the hosts wouldn't forgive and forget.

"I would think they'd remember that well, and the way it came," he reflected. "Over the 90 minutes of the game, we did deserve to win and for them it's bad losing any game but the manner they lost in, in injury time, I would think is still very clear in their minds."

As the City squad get set to battle it out at Bramall Lane, Roeder said this weekend's opponents had fond memories of the top flight fuelling their ambitions: "I think they're up for every game, most of their squad is made of of players who played in the Premiership.

"In James Beattie, they've got one of the best strikers in the Championship without a doubt because he's a proven Premiership player. They're expectations are to be back in the Premiership this year and with the squad which Kevin Blackwell has got at his disposal, that should be achievable."

The Norwich manager added: "We're normally at our best when we play against a team like them. It's one game at a time, and we need to put in a good performance which picks up points. We've had too many good performances where we haven't picked up points so far this season."
