BOSS Glenn Roeder described the Canaries' 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United as 'galling' after watching his side hit the woodwork twice and squander other chances to grab a point against the play-off chasing Blades.
"The performance was excellent, considering this is a club I think will probably be promoted back to the Premier League this year. They have a strong side with many having played in the Premiership. To come here and match them all the way and at times be the better side, just makes it the more galling yet again to have not taken any points from the game.
"Teams come here sometimes and get bullied but they didn't do that to us today. Everyone stood up to be counted and there's no questioning the commitment the players have shown to the cause out there today.
"We need to take heart from the performance today. I don't usually agree with what referees have to say but when Mark Halsey says to me after the game 'you deserved at least a point there' then I have to agree.
"The goal was very poor - we've gone to sleep there and been punished. Then at the other end we've hit the woodwork twice and when Arturo (Lupoli) has headed that second one it's looked for all the world as if it's drifting in, but at the last moment it drifts out on to the post and wide.
"Marshall's made his customary world-class save to keep it at 1-0 to be fair, but we've had other chances as well. Wes (Hoolahan) has hit the bar, Doc has had two effort bundled off the line from a corner, Crofty has missed another good one, Doc brought a good save out of Kenny late. We can take encouragement from the chances created but we must, must start being more ruthless."
