YOUR SHOUT FROM CARROW ROAD
Your Shout written by Gareth Payne.
16.56 - That's it for me but log on to canaries.co.uk in an hour or so for reaction from Bryan Gunn. I will see you in about 10 days I think for the Saints visit to Carrow Road. On The Ball City!
16.54 - That win looks to have put City up to 19th, two points off the relegation zone, occupying that is Doncaster Rovers, where City travel in two matches time. Next match is at Carrow Road against 23rd place Southampton who ironically played the Saints today. Doncaster Rovers looked to have taken all three points from St. Mary's Stadium.

"
16.52 - That is the final action, Barnsley kick-off and put the ball forward but Hooper blows his whistle and City rejoyce with a victory by four goals to nil over Barnsley. Lee Croft is awarded the Anglian Man of the Match.
16.51 - 4! Need I say more? Well I better describe it to you, Lupoli held the ball up, his back-heel found Bell out right, the sub centered where three men were waiting and Darel Russell was the first off the floor to celebrate, replays show it came Russell who headed home under intense pressure from Lupoli and Pattison.
16.49 - City break in numbers looking for the fourth, Pattison with the fresh legs strides forward, cuts inside, his shot is blocked, the ball finds Russell or does Russell find the ball? Either way the midfield turns on to his right-foot and forces a save from the stretching Muller.
16.47 - Lee Croft is withdrawn to a great reception and David Bell replaces him. Not sure if Croft picked up a knock but he was struggling a couple of minutes ago.

"
Well done clingan 3-0 time for 1 more????? Hopefully."
panomania
16.46 - Clingan with the penalty, to the left, 'keeper goes right. 3-0. Van Homoet was booked in all that as well, I think as much for his protests than for the actual challenge.

"
16.45 - Penalty to Norwich, Pattison fouled by Marciano van Homoet.
16.44 - The Premiership has delivered in the second-half, goals, sending-offs, penalties, upsets, the whole shebang.
16.43 - Arturo Lupoli is coming on to replace Jamie Cureton. Both men receive a fantastic reception. The Lupoli song is sung, which goes, "Arturo Lupoli, Arturo Lupoli, Arturo Lupoli, Arturo Lupoli", sing along at home.

"Hopefully the Sherriff of Norwich and his men will be taking no prisoners."

"Such irony - Glenn Roeder's most vaunted signing waits until he's left before becoming the promised hero."

16.39 - Here comes Matty Pattison, the South African midfielder will replace Wes Hoolahan. Imagine that is a straight-swap on the left-hand side of midfield.
16.37 - Jon Macken who was been relatively quiet thus far has a right-foot half-volley blocked by the Doc. It was travelling, good defending.
16.36 - "Jamie is back, Jamie is back, woooooooooo oooooooooo". I think that is how the song goes anyway.
16.33 - That's two and it just had to be Jamie Cureton with it. Jonathan Grounds played the ball long for Curo to chase, Moore and Muller got it wrong this time, the big defender waiting for his keeper but the pass didn't have the legs to skip through but the recalled striker had the presence of mind to nip in and lift the ball over Muller, who got hands to it but it still had enough power to creep over the line.
16.32 - Bobby Hassell take a bow son. City worked a free-kick through Hoolahan's leg for Clingan to strike, taking the wall out of the equation but Hassell managed to get some part of his body, looked like the side of his head in the way of the shot, twas goalbound I tell thee.
16.30 - Cureton has a shot from just outside the area, saw Muller off his line and tried to beat him aerial, the German stopper backpedelled quickly enough to pluck out of the area.
16.28 - Today's attendance is announced a 24,685. Great support.
16.27 - Curo is inches away from latching on to a long though-ball, Moore just gets his body in the way, Muller was committed to coming and I don't think he would have made it.
16.25 - Lee Croft is he, isn't he, referee Hooper has called him over and it is a warning, the winger came sliding in on Kozluk but missed him. Free-kick to Barnsley, which is cleared away.

"See - I told you!!!
Goal Wes!!!"

16.22 - Hoolahan comes very close to doubling his goals tally with a near-post shot that has Muller wrong-footed. He appeals for a corner for a knick off the closing defender but goal-kick given.
16.20 - Maceo Rigters has gone off and is lying on the floor receving some treatment, manager Simon Davey wastes no time is bringing on Kayode Odejayi for the former City loanee. Rigters has lasted longer in this match than he did during his loan spell, which in two sub appearances, if memory serves, totalled 28 minutes before a hamstring strain struck.
16.18 - City break following a Barnsley free-kick that is first blocked by the wall and then cleared by Doherty. Cureton makes strides towards the Barnsley box, with Croft offering the forward run but Curo's pass is just slightly overhit and gathered by Muller.
16.17 - The Bryan Gunn chants persist and grow louder, "Bryan Gunn gives us a wave", he can't resist and out comes the big hand, cue loud cheers from the Snake Pit.
16.14 - GOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!! Wes Hoolahan with his first City goal. The midfielder gambled with a forward run centrally beyond the strikers. Darel Russell slipped him through, Wes rounded Muller was forced wide but was still able to knock in to the empty net.

"
16.10 - Barnsley change, Diego Leon is replaced by Jacob Butterfield.
16.09 - Russell makes something out of nothing, disposses Anderson de Silva, performs a 360 turn before unleashing a left-footed shot that has Muller scampering across his goal.
16.06 - Been a glut of goals in the Premiership also, two.

"
Heinz Muller 'that sounds like a confused yoghurt'. Lets hope Norwich can splat one past the Muller from the corner!
Cheesey I know but worth a punt!."
panomania
16.04 - Barnsley get the second half underway.
15.47 - There is the half-time whistle, a good half for City but the score remains goalless.
15.46 - City dominating proceedings at the end of the half, one minute to be added, the pressure really being cranked up, Russell has a shot on the turn blocked by Dennis Souza.
15.45 - Derby are getting sucked down as well, Nigel Clough's side losing 2-0 at home QPR at the moment. Luton have started with Michael Spillane, Rossi Jarvis, Ian Henderson and Chris Martin with Paul McVeigh on the bench.

"

"
15.38 - Wes Hoolahan stings Muller's fingertips with a fierce left-foot drive, the tricky winger did well to engineer a yard of space for himself on the edge of the Barnsley box.
15.36 - City break quickly, Hoolahan leading the charge, Bertrand shows great pace to get up with play on the overlap, Moore gets his frame in the way of the cross. From the resulting corner, Barnsley scramble it away but Russell almost connects with a Bertrand cross.

"
15.31 - Doherty meets Clingan's near-post corner from the right but his header goes over.
15.25 - Diego Leon makes another ill-advised challenge this time on the right-flank on Hoolahan, ref Hooper had a little word with the midfielder.
15.24 - Moments before Darel Russell had another goalbound effort blocked by a desperate Bobby Hassell, Hoolahan squared the ball to Russell.
15.22 - Diego Leon is the first player to make the referee's notebook for a trip on Sammy Clingan just outside the area, the Northern Ireland international midfielder was winding up for a shot when his legs was taken away from under him. Clingan curls the free-kick right-footed a yard wide of Heinz Muller's right-hand post.
15.20 - Barnsley's left-back Rob Kozluk appears to be wearing a protective mask, presumably to protect a cheekbone injury, either that or he wants to be a super-hero.

"
15.14 - Jamie Cureton just chased a ball in to the corner with Darren Moore, now that is a mis-match in size if ever I saw one.
15.13 - City chances, Clingan corner from the right, Grounds made the near-post run but just mis-timed his jump. Russell came in behind and stabbed his effort goalwards but it was blocked. Ball came back in, met by Russell but headed over.
15.08 - Shape is that Darel Russell is playing as the advanced midfielder behind Jamie Cureton, Croft and Hoolahan on their respective flanks, Fotheringham and Clingan in the heart of the midfield. Defence as expected, Otsemobor and Bertrand full-backs with Grounds in partnering Doherty.

"Totally agree with the player of the month Lee Croft. Hopefully the new manager will agree a new deal with Crofty. He is by far the best player in the squad. That belter of a goal against Ipswich must be a Contender for Goal of the season!"
panomania
15.06 - First chance for City Jamie Cureton heading Lee Croft's right-wing cross wide.
15.04 - A lot of support for Bryan Gunn both on the message board and in the stadium with a song for the legend. He is patrolling the technical area in a suit, hope to bring you photos of that later. Meanwhile on the pitch Barnsley have the first chance with Rigters sliding a chance wide.
15.01- We're underway here at Carrow Road.
15.00 - As the teams are announced the largest cheer is reserved for Jamie Cureton. City will attack the Barclay Stand first-half with Cureton and Clingan to kick-off.
14.59 - The teams are out and here comes the On The Ball chant. Loud, very loud!
14.56 - Will endeavour to give you the shape of the team once they line-up.

"It's last Saturdays team with Cureton replacing Lupoli and Russell for Sibierski. I would guess they'll use the same formation that finished the game last week with Hoolahan playing in behind Jamie.
Many will feel Fozzy should be dropped but all Bryan Gunn has really had time to do is try to change the mood in the dressing room. I'm not surprised he hasn't made major changes on the field."

14.50 - The Anglian Player of the Month for December is Lee Croft, who can forget that screamer against Ipswich here at Carrow Road.
14.29 - Second penalty for Preston, second goal for Preston. Five minutes to go.

"
14.21 - Robbie Blake has just scored an absolute screaming from a free-kick to level proceedings at Deepdale with ten minutes remaining.
14.18 - Maceo Rigters who was on loan at City last season starts in attack alongside Jon Macken for the visitors in place of Jamie Cureton, who starts in yellow and green.
14.10 - Teams are in and Bryan Gunn makes five changes to the team that lost to Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup, Jonathan Grounds and Ryan Bertrand replace Elliot Omozusi and Adam Drury, neither whom make the bench, both were carrying knocks from that game. Wes Hoolahan is in for David Bell who drops to the bench. Strikers Arturo Lupoli and Carl Cort are on the bench with Jamie Cureton and Darel Russell starting.
14.05 - Preston are leading against Burnley courtesy of a slightly debatable penalty. Catch Chris Eagles' first-half effort if you can, well worth a watch, he didn't score mind.

"
13.58 - Hello and welcome from Carrow Road. Bryan Gunn is in charge for today's game against Barnsley. Jamie Cureton was recalled from the Tykes during the week and is in contention. The team sheets should be with us inside 20 minutes.

"
A big thank you to Glenn Roeder for saving us last year but it was time to go wasn't it! We are all looking foward to seeing who will take over as our full-time manager. But for now lets bring out the 'Big Gunns' and lets have a great win for the fans.
2-1 to Norwich and Cureton to score!"
